Summary:

Essential Job Functions:

• Identifies cardiac anatomy according to age of patient, as well as, cardiac anomalies, heart disease and pertinent clinical information and communicates this to the cardiologist.

• Assists the cardiologist with patient exams and identifies any changes of patient clinical circumstances which may alter the exam protocol and performance.

• Performs computer analysis and demonstrates competency in making quantitative calculations of echo data. Reviews echocardiograms for quality and completeness and cardiologist’s preference.

• Collects and reviews all required clinical information prior to performing exams and communicates information to the physician and co-workers, i.e., patient history, pertinent symptoms, etc. Assures that a written physician order is received prior to an exam performance and reviews charts to ensure that proper exams are performed.

• Provides education appropriate to patient procedure and within scope of responsibility.

• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

• Sonographer | North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) | American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) | Within 18 Months of Start Date | HR Primary Sources

• Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 Days of Start Date | Learning Management System
