People Operations

About Network Right

Network Right is on a mission to create a human-centric, innovative, next-generation world of IT. We are disrupting the IT service industry by offering custom solutions to each individual client. At Network Right, we’re bridging the gap between IT and People by offering unique support based on the needs of growing businesses, and making employee lives easier through technology.

About the Role

Network Right is growing fast, and we want to scale with intention. Our team is our greatest asset, and we are looking for our first dedicated People Operations hire to help us take care of the people behind it all. This is an exciting time to step in, update our People Ops function, and shape the future of our workplace culture.

This is a mixed role, roughly split between People Operations for the whole company and office support for our San Francisco HQ. Critically, this is a generalist role. You will be the single owner of our People function, which means you need to be comfortable navigating payroll, benefits, compliance, performance management, and culture or know when to bring in support. We work with a PEO to handle the heavy compliance lifting, but you are the one who knows when to call on them, how to get things done, and how to communicate changes back to the team.

You will be the first point of contact for employees on all things People, trusted to handle sensitive information with discretion, eliminate friction in our processes, and build playbooks where none exist.

• Compensation: $90,000-105,000. We determine your starting salary based on the depth of your experience and how closely your skillset aligns with our team's needs.

• Working Hours: The shift is 9:00am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday.

• Location: This position requires you to be onsite 4 days a week at our San Francisco HQ. We are unable to offer relocation at this time.

• Sponsorship: Network Right is not currently able to provide visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

What You’ll Do

People Operations

• Own the relationship with our PEO across all functions including payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee lifecycle workflows. You are the translator between our team and the PEO, knowing when to escalate, how to get things resolved, and how to communicate changes back to employees

• Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions on HR topics, benefits, and policies, balancing high-touch support where it matters with self-service resources where it scales

• Own the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding process, from administration and Day 1 readiness to exit coordination, equipment returns, and access revocation, so every transition is seamless and every new hire feels the Network Right culture from day one

• Manage our background check process end to end, proactively following up on flags and ensuring all new hire records are cleared and current

• Own I-9 and E-Verify workflows for all new hires, staying on top of federal compliance requirements and timelines

• Lead the evaluation of our current payroll and HR platform and provide recommendations on whether to renew or migrate to a better-fit solution

• Support and coordinate performance management cycles in partnership with leadership, ensuring a consistent and fair process across the team

• Create, maintain, and continuously improve SOPs and process documentation. You are building the playbooks, not inheriting them

• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate People Ops workflows, knowing when a simple tool or AI-assisted solution closes the gap versus when something needs a bigger lift

• Partner cross-functionally with the co-founders and department leaders to support employee lifecycle events and keep data accurate across all systems

• Champion culture and employee experience, designing intentional touchpoints that keep the team connected as we grow

Office and Administrative Support

• Maintain a consistent in-office presence in SF to keep the workspace running smoothly, including managing supplies, coordinating vendors, and ensuring the office is set up for the team to do their best work

• Support candidate experience during onsite interviews, ensuring a welcoming and well-organized experience from arrival through wrap-up

• Assist with planning and executing company events and offsites, including venue sourcing, logistics, and coordination

What We Look For

The Must-Haves

• 3 to 5 years in People Ops or HR at a company with fewer than 200 employees.

• Hands-on experience working within a PEO model and managing that relationship across payroll, benefits, and compliance

• Touched payroll coordination, compliance, performance management, and culture without handing off to a different team

• Demonstrated experience building at least one HR process or program from scratch, not just executing an existing playbook. Whether it was a performance review process, an onboarding program, or a compliance workflow, you have built something that did not exist before you arrived

• Proven track record owning onboarding and offboarding processes end to end

• Hands-on experience managing background checks, I-9, and E-Verify workflows

• Background supporting and coordinating performance management cycles in partnership with leadership

• Proficient in Google Suite with a habit of creating and maintaining clear internal process documentation

• Experience using AI tools to streamline communications, draft documentation, and improve workflows

• High degree of discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information

• Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization

The Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with the tools listed above, but we care more that you are a fast learner who is comfortable picking up new platforms quickly

• Exposure to office management, workplace coordination, or event planning

• Comfortable working in ticketing systems to manage employee requests and track workflows

• Genuine interest in growing a career in People Ops alongside a scaling team
