The Assistant Director, Residency Program will join our close-knit team providing leadership and oversight for the operational, financial, accreditation, educational, and administrative activities of the emergency medicine residency program. This is an opportunity to play a crucial role in facilitating a complex, rigorous program to train new physicians to practice emergency medicine.

The Assistant Director serves as the senior administrative leader for the emergency medicine residency program. They will oversee a team of Program Coordinators and will partner with the Program Director, Assistant/Associate Program Directors, System Education Program Administrator, Department Leadership, and institutional stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance, operational excellence, effective resource utilization, and achievement of strategic objectives. The Assistant Director develops departmental GME operational strategy, leads administrative teams, and establishes standards supporting the educational mission.

The position involves responsibilities which are cyclical over the year in their intensity. As such, team members are expected to exhibit flexibility to support each other as needs change over time. We also value suggestions and innovations for making our large, complex system more efficient, organized, and effective in supporting and communicating with trainees. As all of the programs train dedicated young physicians at critical developmental stages in their careers and lives, a desire to build supportive connections with them is also appreciated.
