Patient Transporter - Senior (HOPD Mays Cancer Center)

• Creates best care experience when greeting and assisting all patients and visitors entering multiple areas of the hospital and clinics.
• Assists with checking patient's schedule, answering questions regarding their appointment, and checking paperwork.
• Assists front desk with various duties and register patients in MyChart.
• Safely and securely transports and assists patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas via wheelchair/stretcher as requested to include transport of oxygen tanks and any special equipment.
• Ensures wheelchairs are available at each entry in a clean and working condition.
• Accounts for and secures wheelchairs by end of shift and inspects on a daily basis for any needed repairs.
• Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to/from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers as requested.
• Assists patients in and out of vehicles and escorts or transports to and from the hospital or clinic lobby in a cordial manner and obtains service for the transportation to other locations.
• Supports clerical duties to include answering phones/voice mail, and maintaining various sign out and patient transport logs.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

• Excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively work with both internal and external customers and respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner.
• Self-motivated and directed; takes ownership for deliverables and deadlines.
• Ability to be motivate and create commitment to excellence.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED is required.

EXPERIENCE:

Five (5) years related experience is required.
