Social Media Strategy

• Own Huron's global social media channel strategy (defining the distinct role, audience, and content mix for each platform) and continuously evolve the channel portfolio, expanding, consolidating, or retiring channels as business priorities and audience behavior shift.
• Align social content and campaigns to business development priorities, connecting Huron's expertise with clients and prospects to support pipeline and growth goals.
• Define and maintain a platform-native content strategy for LinkedIn (primary channel), Instagram (growth priority), and YouTube, with an understanding of how each platform serves a distinct audience and business objective.

Content Direction and Creation

• Set content direction and campaign priorities for the Social team and content creators to execute against, providing clear briefs and quality standards.
• Actively lead hands-on content development, including on-camera interviews with subject matter experts and video editing for high-visibility and executive moments.
• Produce short-form and long-form video content independently — primarily on iPhone or similar mobile device — with proficiency in editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar. Comfort operating a dedicated camera when the situation calls for it is expected.
• Travel an estimated 15–20% of the year to lead or support content creation for:
  • Executive and leadership visibility moments
  • Industry conferences
  • HR and recruiting events
  • Major internal and enterprise-wide gatherings
• Own organic social media strategy, collaborate closely with Digital Marketing to shape an effective, strategic paid media approach that is fully aligned with organic content and channel priorities.
• Bring a storytelling-first mindset to content development — thinking in narrative arcs, not just content formats, and applying that lens to everything from a LinkedIn text post to a filmed executive feature.

Cross-Functional and Business Partnership

• Represent enterprise-wide goals in social strategy, aligning priorities across business areas rather than a single function.
• Partner with Marketing leaders and business unit leadership shaping how social supports campaigns and business priorities.
• Partner with HR on employer-brand and talent-related content.
• Manage an editorial intake and prioritization process across multiple business units with competing content requests, maintaining a clear governance model that upholds social standards.

Visibility and Thought Leadership

• Partner with business and industry leaders and SMEs to translate their expertise into externally facing social content (e.g., LinkedIn thought-leadership posts, expert commentary, video features).
• Support leader and SME visibility on social specifically, helping position them as credible voices and go-to sources within social conversations relevant to their expertise.
• Conduct structured on-camera interviews with subject matter experts, drawing out compelling, audience-friendly narrative from technical or complex topics — often in compressed timeframes and without production crew.

SME Enablement and Employee Advocacy

• Lead Huron Connect, Huron's employee advocacy platform, including strategy, adoption, and content pipeline.
• Recruit, train, and coach content managers, SMEs, and employee advocates, and build the tools and education that help them authentically and effectively represent the Huron brand on their own channels.
• Guide the organization through change as social strategy, tools, and expectations evolve.

Governance, Reputation and Issue Support

• Serve as final approver of content and brand presentation across all social channels, maintaining visual and voice consistency across channels and geographies.
• Own social governance processes and editorial standards, maintaining alignment with Communications, Marketing (including Brand), and Content teams.
• Monitor social channels for negative sentiment, reputational risk, and emerging issues, exercising judgement on when and how to escalate to the appropriate Communication, Legal, or HR partner.
• Support issue- and crisis-related communications on social, including message development, holding statements, and cross-functional alignment during sensitive moments.

Measurement and Reporting

• Synthesize channel-level reporting into strategic insights and recommendations that connect social performance to business outcomes, not vanity metrics.
• Track performance against campaign goals and always-on content using KPIs such as engagement quality, audience growth, reach, and content performance by channel and format.
• Prioritize proactive engagement signals including reactions, shares/reposts, comments, and clicks, to understand how audiences engage with content, and apply these insights to improve what's produced platform-to-platform.
• Monitor trends and the competitive landscape, recommending strategy shifts and setting the team's test-and-learn agenda.

Team Leadership and Development

• Manage, develop, and grow the Social team, setting priorities and quality standards while empowering ownership of execution.
• Coach the team and broader organization on social and content skills and brand standards.
• Lead as a player-coach: this is a small team and the right leader remains actively involved in execution — particularly in video production, on-site content creation, and SME enablement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
• 8–10+ years of progressive social media, digital content creation, marketing, or corporate communications experience, including experience at an enterprise or multi-business-unit organization.
• Demonstrated experience managing content programs, direct reports, and cross-functional or business stakeholders, with proven experience influencing senior and executive stakeholders on brand and reputation matters; global or multi-region social experience preferred.
• Proven track record of social media strategy that drives measurable business growth across core platforms (LinkedIn, Meta, and YouTube).
• Documented audience growth results on LinkedIn and Instagram, with specific figures and a clear description of the strategy behind them.
• Demonstrated hands-on video production experience: filming on iPhone or similar mobile device, independent field content creation, and proficiency with at least one video editing tool (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci Resolve, or comparable platform).
• Experience conducting on-camera interviews with subject matter experts, including preparation, question design, and post-production editing.
• Experience owning or leading an employee advocacy program — including platform strategy, content pipeline, and advocate training.
• Chicago location preferred, given regular filming at our headquarters studio.
• Willingness to travel an estimated 15–20% of the year for on-site content shoots and events.

• Social and Digital Platform Mastery: Deep expertise across LinkedIn, Instagram (including growth strategy for a B2B audience), YouTube, and emerging channels, translating platform trends into Huron-specific strategy and AI-assisted content workflows.
• Video Production and Storytelling: Ability to independently film, edit, and produce social-ready video content on mobile and camera, and to approach all content — from a LinkedIn post to a filmed interview — with a narrative-first mindset.
• Business Acumen: Connects social and content strategy to enterprise goals of growing people, margins, and revenue.
• Planning and Organizing: Manages concurrent campaigns and long-range planning, coordinating resources and partners to keep initiatives on track, displaying proficiency with project management and scheduling tools such as Wrike and Sprout Social, or similar platforms. Maintains a clear editorial intake and prioritization process across multiple business units.
• Critical Thinking and Analytics: Synthesizes performance data, trends, and the competitive landscape into clear, actionable strategic recommendations.

The estimated base salary range for this job is $130,000-$185,000.  The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy.  Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $156,000-$222,000. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
