Stanford University is one of the world’s premier academic and research institutions, devoting tremendous intellectual and physical resources toward the betterment of humanity. As a major Silicon Valley employer, Stanford seeks people committed to excellence and improving our world. The university is committed to supporting its employees as they develop their careers and enrich their lives. Stanford’s future success will be shaped by its diverse perspectives, unique experiences, and inclusive culture.

Serving the Stanford University campus, the Bay Area community, and visitors from around the world, the Cantor Arts Center provides an outstanding cultural experience for visitors of all ages and a growing online audience of scholars. The Cantor’s encyclopedic collection spans 5,000 years and includes more than 40,000 works of art from around the globe. An established resource for teaching and research on campus, the Cantor offers free admission and programs year-round. It is consistently one of the most visited university museums in the U.S.

The Anderson Collection at Stanford University is an extraordinary collection of modern and contemporary American paintings and sculpture located next door to the Cantor. Since its opening in 2014 the museum has become a home to thousands of students, faculty, staff, and community members who find inspiration and respite in its galleries. Built on generosity and a culture of invitation, it is a place that invites anyone to have a personal experience with 20th and 21st century American art from icons including Richard Diebenkorn, Helen Frankenthaler, Agnes Martin, Jackson Pollock, Martin Puryear, Mark Rothko, and Mary Weatherford, while special exhibitions feature new works by artists whose practices address significant issues of our time.

It is an exciting time to join the Cantor Arts Center and Anderson Collection as we build capacity to achieve the museums’ goals within an equitable, collaborative, and creative work environment.

Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Facilities Manager will work closely with the Cantor and Anderson teams to manage and support the two museums. The position must maintain respectful relationships with a wide range of colleagues and vendors while practicing sound judgment and decision making, effective written and oral communications, strong attention to detail, and flexibility in understanding of facilities functionality.
