Electronics Design Engineer

Job Summary
 

The Electronics Design Engineer will work with the hardware development team to design and support the Vertiv management platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Use CAD tools to enter schematics and design electronic hardware
• Debug electronic hardware using standard lab tools
• Assist in sustaining shipping products by evaluating alternate electronic components
• Creating technical documentation leading to physical electronic hardware
• Develop design simulations that will ensure success with new hardware
• Develop low-level applications for basic processor functionality

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• Motivated self-starter, with a high capacity for learning and meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work with other engineers in a team environment
• Interested in designing electronic devices
• Good verbal and written communication in English
• Working knowledge of laboratory equipment, oscilloscope, logic analyzer
• Understanding of schematic entry tools required
• Basic understanding of standard electronic communication protocols; ethernet, USB, I2C, SPI, PCIe, etc. required
• Basic understanding of design and operation of embedded compute platforms required 
• Understanding of Verilog HDL, a plus
• Understanding of Mentor Graphics schematic entry, a plus 
• Understanding of simulation tools, such as Hyperlynx, a plus
• Understanding of C, C++, or assembly language, a plus
• Understanding of basic EMI principles, a plus
