Department: Cardiology

Reporting to the Cardiology Supervisor, the Cardiovascular Interventional Technician ensures a quality outcome and maximum efficiency of the cardiology product line in an adult patient population through the competent use of specific high technology supplies and equipment.  Under the supervision of a qualified physician proceeds with the established methodology of diagnostic examinations and therapeutic patient services.                  

Minimum Experience/Skills: Three months to one year preferred                        
                        
License/Certificates/Credentials: Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, ACLS within 90 days of hire (new hires only). RCIS preferred.  Must be licensed and hold current certification in Radiologic Technology by the State of California, Radiological Health Section, Department of Health, current license by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT), current Fluoroscopy permit.  If no current Fluoroscopy permit at time of hire, must obtain Fluoroscopy, permit within six (6) months of employment at DMC.  If permit is not obtained at the conclusion of six (6), months, employment with DMC will be terminated.

Physical Demands: 

• Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking. 
• Lift/position up to 50 lbs. 
• Push/pull up to 50 lbs of force. 
• Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, manual dexterity and mobility, touch, auditory and visual perception and acuity, adequate vocal pitch and volume, ability to move quickly.

Vision Requirements: Ability to adjust vision to bring into focus

Working Conditions: Regularly exposed to the risk of contagious and blood borne diseases, subject to varying and unpredictable situations, emergency and crisis situations, subject to irregular hours, pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries, occasional exposure to radiation to hazards, radioactive substance and biohazard material.
