Fine Dining Cook - The Reserve (Harrah's Joliet)

• Prepare and execute high-quality steakhouse and fine dining menu items with precision and consistency
• Expertly cook steaks and proteins to proper temperatures and specifications
• Utilize advanced cooking techniques including grilling, sautéing, broiling, roasting, and plating
• Maintain strong knowledge of food quality, presentation, seasoning, and timing
• Ensure all dishes meet recipe standards and guest expectations
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment
• Follow all sanitation, food safety, and Board of Health standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations and equipment
• Assist with prep, inventory control, and minimizing product waste

• Previous fine dining or steakhoue expereince is required.
• Strong knowledge of steak temperatures, cooking techniques, and protein preparation
• Experience working on high-volume grill or sauté stations preferred
• Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail and presentation
• Knowledge of proper food handling, holding temperatures, and sanitation standards
• Reliable, professional, and able to perform well under pressure
• Team player with a strong work ethic and passion for culinary excellence
• Board of Health Sanitation Certificate required
• Culinary degree preferred but not required with relevant experience

Please Note: Final candidates will be required to complete a food tasting/cooking audition as part of the interview process to demonstrate fine dining cooking skills and proper execution techniques.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. above and below shoulder level and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Position requires 30% standing, 70% walking.
• Requires very frequent bending, pushing, twisting, kneeling, climbing, stooping and reaching overhead. Must be able to respond to touch, speech, smell, aural and visual cues.
• Must be able to work in an area containing secondary smoke.
• Must possess coordination and dexterity to use kitchen utensils.
• Must be able to tolerate industry standard cleaning/sanitizing chemicals.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment involving constant internal and external customer contact.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $19.00/hr

• Swing Shift: 12:00 pm -12:00 am (Thursday through Sunday)
