Senior Procurement Architect (P4/P5) – Procurement Boundary Applications & IT Procurement

Position Summary

The Senior Procurement Architect will serve as the functional and architectural lead for Procurement boundary applications within the SAP S/4HANA landscape. This role is responsible for defining the target-state architecture, integration strategy, business process alignment, and end-to-end procurement solution design across SAP and non-SAP applications.

The individual will act as the bridge between Procurement, Enterprise Architecture, Integration teams, IT delivery teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure boundary applications support Micron's future-state procurement operating model while minimizing customizations and technical debt.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Architecture & Solution Design

• Define and maintain the target architecture for Procurement-related boundary applications.
• Ensure alignment of procurement solutions with SAP S/4HANA standard capabilities and enterprise architecture principles.
• Drive application rationalization and assess opportunities to reduce duplicate functionality and custom solutions.
• Evaluate new procurement technologies, platforms, and vendor solutions.

Boundary Application Ownership

Lead architecture and integration design for applications such as:

• SAP Ariba
• Coupa
• Jaggaer
• Ivalua
• E2open
• Supplier Portals
• Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM)
• Supplier Risk & Compliance Solutions
• Procurement Analytics Platforms
• Vendor Master Governance Solutions
• Invoice Automation Solutions
• Catalog Management Systems
• Expense Management Systems
• Procurement Reporting Platforms

Integration Architecture

• Define integration patterns between SAP S/4HANA and procurement boundary applications.
• Design interfaces leveraging: APIs Middleware platforms Event-based integrations EDI/B2B solutions File-based integrations where required
• Ensure end-to-end transaction integrity across source and target systems.

Procurement Process Transformation

Provide architectural guidance across:

• Source-to-Contract (S2C)
• Source-to-Pay (S2P)
• Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
• Supplier Collaboration
• Strategic Sourcing
• Vendor Onboarding
• Contract Management
• Requisition Management
• Purchase Order Processing
• Invoice Automation
• Supplier Performance Management

Program & Project Leadership

• Support S/4HANA transformation initiatives and procurement modernization programs.
• Review vendor proposals and validate architecture recommendations.
• Challenge solution designs to ensure scalability, supportability, and cost optimization.
• Participate in design reviews and architecture governance boards.

Testing & Readiness

• Define testing strategy for procurement boundary applications.
• Ensure integration, SIT, UAT, and regression testing readiness.
• Identify architectural risks and mitigation strategies.
• Support deployment planning and production readiness assessments.

Data & Governance

• Drive vendor master data governance and procurement master data strategy.
• Establish controls for procurement data quality and lifecycle management.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and governance standards.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.

Experience

• 10+ years of Procurement, Supply Chain, or SAP Procurement experience.
• 5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture or solution architecture roles.
• Multiple SAP implementation or transformation programs.
• Experience with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA procurement processes.
