Floor Finisher (3rd shift)

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform basic tasks in your area (e.g., cleaning, moving equipment and furniture, and floor care maintenance) under direct supervision.
• Perform basic tasks related to moving biohazardous waste for proper disposal and moving and removing regular trash to designated waste receptacles.
• Assist in maintaining any personal protective equipment deemed appropriate for use through job hazard assessments in good condition.
• Help provide patients, visitors, and health sciences staff with a safe, clean environment.
• Support the maintenance of cleanliness, sanitation, and freedom from hazards and infections.
• Complete hard-surface floor refinishing with meticulous attention to detail and consistency.
• Complete proper carpet cleaning and maintenance with meticulous attention to detail and consistency.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet the department and institution's goals and objectives.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Consistently meet job expectations, adhere to policies, and deliver quality work while applying St. Jude values and principles. Managers evaluate employee performance throughout the year—specifically through the spring and fall Check‑In milestones and the Annual Performance Review. All employees are encouraged to actively participate in these performance management processes.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.

Minimum Experience:

• Experience in environmental services preferred.
• Understanding of environmental regulations, laws, and standards preferred.
• Basic knowledge of biohazardous and/ or hazardous waste management preferred
• Hard Surface and Carpet Care experience preferred.

• Understands standard waste disposal procedures. Can handle basic biohazard materials following protocols. Knows how to use personal protective equipment correctly and follows hygiene best practices.
