JOB SUMMARY

As a Production Tech at Dolese, you will perform basic plant monitoring and production support activities to contribute to safe and efficient operations. This entry-level role focuses on observing processing equipment performance, supporting plant operations, and responding to routine process conditions while developing foundational knowledge of plant systems, including crushing, screening, and conveying operations, under direct supervision.

This position works the night shift schedule (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM), with five days on followed by three days off.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Monitor processing equipment performance and system status, communicating status changes, abnormalities, or concerns to supervision.
• Ensure crushing, screening, and conveyor systems operate safely and within defined conditions by observing performance and communicating issues to supervision.
• Coordinate material feed following defined procedures to support consistent production flow.
• Respond to routine alarms and system notifications and escalate as needed.
• Recognize and escalate basic process upsets and abnormal operating conditions.
• Clear minor jams and support basic production, process continuity, and dust suppression activities.
• Support troubleshooting efforts by identifying and communicating equipment or process concerns to supervision and maintenance teams.
• Participate in root cause analysis activities by reporting observations and contributing relevant information.
• Support coordination with Operational Technology and Reliability & Maintenance teams by communicating equipment issues or process observations to support production.
• Support plant operations by applying an understanding of plant flow and system operations to maintain consistent production and identify changes in operating conditions.
• Perform daily pre‐ and post-operational equipment inspections by following established procedures and accurately documenting equipment condition in compliance with company policies.
• Maintain safe and organized work areas by performing cleanup activities and supporting general site conditions.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and MSHA regulations by consistently applying safe work practices and identifying potential hazards.
• Observe work area conditions and communicate material flow, equipment, or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Regular, reliable attendance at the assigned worksite.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in quarry, plant, or heavy equipment operations preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn and follow safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under direct supervision.
• Demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude and develop an understanding of how plant equipment and systems function through training and on-the-job experience.
• Develop a basic understanding of plant processes, system monitoring concepts, and process flow.
• Develop a basic understanding of process behavior and the importance of continuous improvement.
• Develop a basic understanding of system controls and setpoint adjustments within established operating limits.
• Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, operating instructions, and basic technical documentation.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations related to production and operations.
• Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively to team members and supervision regarding plant status and operating conditions.
• Ability to complete required documentation, both in written form and within digital systems, with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as a team player in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing work demands.
• Demonstrate reliability in attendance, work performance, and workplace behavior.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, overtime, and weekends as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 75 lbs. occasionally and 50 lbs. frequently.
• Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and ladders.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights.
• Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects.
• Ability to repeatedly reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged standing, walking, and sitting.
• Ability to frequently walk on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to use vibration producing tools frequently.
• Ability to work near, around, or on light or heavy equipment.
• Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
