Sr Benefits Analyst

Job Summary

As a Sr. Benefits Analyst, you will play a key role in managing complex benefits administration processes and supporting client relationships. This position requires deeper analysis, ownership of benefits processes, and the ability to resolve escalated issues while ensuring compliance with benefits regulations.

You will administer employee benefits programs, coordinate with carriers and internal teams, audit benefit data, and support Open Enrollment and renewal activities. Your analytical mindset, attention to detail, and proactive communication with clients and stakeholders will ensure accurate benefits administration and high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

Client & Relationship Management

• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding benefit-related inquiries, escalations, and complex issues, maintaining a professional and solutions-oriented approach.
• Analyze and resolve documented variances within the CRM system (Client Space), coordinating with carriers, reviewing system configurations, and managing internal reassignments when necessary.
• Participate in or lead client meetings and transition calls to address benefit administration issues and ensure service continuity.

Benefits Administration & Compliance

• Ensure accurate eligibility determinations for new hires and employees experiencing status changes and update benefit records accordingly.
• Process Qualified Life Events (QLEs) accurately and within required timelines.
• Manage FSA and HSA eligibility, enrollments, and compliance monitoring.
• Respond to COBRA inquiries in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Process Medical Support Orders (MSO) and Benefits Verification of Employment (VOE) requests.
• Conduct payroll reviews to validate benefit deductions and changes.
• Perform benefits reconciliation processes, identifying discrepancies and ensuring data integrity across systems.
• Generate and process benefit adjustments to maintain accurate employee records.

Enrollment & Systems Management

• Coordinate and support the Open Enrollment process, including employee communications, enrollment system management, and issue resolution.
• Audit rules and verify electronic enrollments in Prism or related systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness of benefits data.

Disability & Claims Support

• Assist employees with disability claims, providing guidance, gathering documentation, and coordinating with insurance carriers to ensure timely resolution.

Reporting, Projects & Renewals

• Prepare and maintain benefits reports tailored to client and broker needs.
• Participate in special projects within the benefits department, supporting process improvements and operational initiatives.
• Manage renewals for master and client-sponsored policies, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.

Skills and Experience

Required Qualifications:

• Strong experience in benefits administration and employee benefits processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, brokers, and internal teams.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems, particularly Prism or similar benefits administration platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong data validation and reconciliation capabilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Advanced Excel proficiency preferred.
