Production Manager

Consistently demonstrates ability to lead and perform the duties below:   

• Lead and ensure compliance with safety regulations and interface with regulatory agencies: 
• Oversee production process and maintain product quality and adjust production plans to meet customer needs and ensures high-quality output. 
• Manage necessary adjustments to production schedules and methods to align with customer specifications and demands. 
• Actively engage in weekly meetings to coordinate schedules between maintenance and production teams.  
• Ensure quality work from operations team by monitoring performance of operations, provide training and support as needed. 
• Coordinate efforts to maintain plant operations during equipment failures or other disruptions. 
• Offer constructive feedback to both maintenance and operations teams to enhance performance. 
• Apply expertise in managing both operational processes and employees to achieve organizational goals. 
• Prior experience in mining/heavy manufacturing, especially kilns.
• Assess and resolve organizational and people issues through coaching and mentoring. 
• Demonstrates excellent organizational abilities, effectively solve problems, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure smooth operations. 
• Customer service focus with a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Improvement Projects 
• Lead and manage improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing costs. 
• Analyze current processes and identify areas for enhancement. 
• Implement and monitor changes to ensure successful outcomes.  
• Drives active safety engagements among team using formal safety stand-downs, SLAMs, and shift meetings. 
• Makes routine field walks to inspect plant and ensure all processes are in good working order.  
• Establishes and manages expectations for housekeeping, greasing, and equipment inspections.  
• Drives accountability and removes barriers to completing these objectives.  

Minimum requirements:

• Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Mining, Business or related field 
• 2+ years Manager experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environment; previous experience as department manager or superintendent for larger facilities
• Industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc. preferred. 
• Extensive knowledge and background in operations supply chain business processes, continuous manufacturing and production processes, and working contemporary concepts of continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing. 
• Positive & proactive attitude with ability to address issues, implement solutions and motivate others. 
• Demonstrable success in cultural 'turn around' a plus. 
• Proven in leading operational excellence through applying behavior-based management. 
• Prior experience demonstrating effective management skills. 
• Demonstrable teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic 
• Fluency in spoken and written English
