Barkfield Animal Hospital in Cumming, Georgia, is seeking a Part-Time Associate Veterinarian who wants flexibility, clinical autonomy, and the opportunity to shape their role around their professional interests.
Whether your passion is general practice, surgery, house calls, or a combination of all three, we're open to discussing how your skills and interests can support our patients and clients.
This position offers a flexible schedule of approximately two days per week, including just 1–2 Saturdays per month. Depending on practice needs and your availability, scheduling may include full days or partial days.
What You Can Expect
- Compensation: Starting base salary of $70,000 plus 20% production.

What You'll Do
- Provide compassionate, high-quality veterinary care tailored to your clinical interests and experience.
- Examine patients, develop diagnostic and treatment plans, and communicate recommendations clearly to clients.
- Perform surgical and dental procedures if aligned with your interests and experience.
- Provide house-call services if desired and appropriate for the role.
- Work collaboratively with veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff to deliver an excellent patient and client experience.
- Exercise sound clinical judgment, including recognizing when referral or consultation is appropriate.
What We're Looking For
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree, with an active Georgia veterinary license or eligibility to obtain one.
- A veterinarian who is confident practicing independently and comfortable managing the day's appointments, medical cases, and clinical decisions without another veterinarian physically on-site.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a commitment to compassionate patient care.
- A collaborative, proactive team member who values client education and positive working relationships.
- A veterinarian interested in a flexible part-time opportunity with the ability to focus on preferred areas of practice.
