Description
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Urgent Care & Adult Primary Care Registered Nurse is a valued member of both the Urgent Care and Internal Medicine teams, providing high-quality clinical care across two dynamic outpatient settings. This role combines the fast-paced, acute-care environment of Urgent Care with the continuity and relationship-based care of Adult Primary Care. The nurse serves as both a clinical partner in patient care and a leader in coordinating patient flow, triage, and care delivery.
In the Urgent Care setting, the Registered Nurse enhances patient care through telephone and in-person triage, leadership during urgent medical situations, and the implementation of skilled nursing interventions, including medication administration, wound care, splint application, and emergency response. The nurse plays a critical role in rapidly assessing patients with urgent or higher-acuity concerns, determining the appropriate level of care, facilitating timely treatment within the clinic, and coordinating transfer to a higher level of care when clinically indicated.
In the Adult Primary Care (Internal Medicine) setting, the Registered Nurse supports the delivery of comprehensive, patient-centered care through telephone and in-person triage, chronic disease management, care coordination, health maintenance, and patient education. Working collaboratively with primary care providers and the interdisciplinary team, the nurse assesses patient needs, provides clinical guidance, coordinates follow-up care, and assists with the management of both acute and chronic health conditions. The nurse utilizes clinical judgment and established protocols to ensure patients receive appropriate and timely care while promoting preventive health and wellness.
This position is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a collaborative environment while maintaining a high degree of clinical autonomy. Our culture is founded on mutual respect among providers, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff, with Nursing serving as a cornerstone of both daily operations and patient outcomes. Nurses in this role make a meaningful impact across the continuum of care by supporting patients during acute illnesses, managing chronic medical conditions, and addressing the healthcare needs of a diverse and often underserved patient population.
Through strong clinical assessment, effective communication, leadership, and care coordination, the Urgent Care & Adult Primary Care Registered Nurse helps ensure patients receive safe, timely, and appropriate care in both acute and primary care settings.
