Job Summary:

The Floral Associate is responsible for creating beautiful, high-quality floral arrangements and seasonal displays for a variety of occasions, holidays, and celebrations. This role thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, combining creativity and attention to detail to design eye-catching arrangements that enhance the customer experience and drive sales. Responsibilities include maintaining fresh, well-stocked floral displays, staying on top of seasonal trends, and collaborating with team members to keep the department vibrant, organized, and inviting.

Requirements

Essential Job Functions

• Create and maintain visually appealing floral displays that are well-stocked, signed, fresh, and organized.
• Follow proper flower handling and safety practices, including care for delicate or specialty florals.
• Accurately price floral merchandise and rotate product according to store quality standards.
• Provide warm, attentive, and knowledgeable customer service, including assisting with floral selection, wrapping, and arrangements.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the floral department to meet sanitation and quality expectations.
• Safely use tools and equipment required for floral preparation, following all safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of plant and flower care, including the ability to differentiate between various types of flowers, plants, and related merchandise, and understand their indoor and outdoor care needs.
• Strong teamwork, organization, time management, and planning skills.
• Excellent communication and active listening skills.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Non-slip shoes are required for safety while working in the department.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot, humid, and cold environments, and tolerate moderate exposure to dust and cleaning agents.
• Must be able to work with a wide variety of fresh floral products without adverse allergic reactions.
• While performing the duties of the job, the associate is regularly required to stand and/or walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• The associate is frequently required to bend, twist, reach, push and pull.
• The associate must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs. 
• Clear vision and hearing to ensure safety, accuracy, and effective communication
• Ability to climb step stools or ladders as needed
