Quality Control Technician Mid Shift Lead – Kenny's Candy & Confections

Hours: 2:40pm - 11:00pm (Monday - Friday)

Compensation:

• All in hourly compensation: $23.50/hr
  • Base Pay: $21.02/hr
  • Sign on Bonus: $1.22/hr worked
  • 6% Shift Differential for Mid Shift: $1.26/hr
• Profit Sharing Eligibility: Begins after completing 1 year of employment ($7.7 Million in Profits Paid to Profit Sharing Pool in 2025)

What We Are Looking For

We’re now hiring a Lead Mid Shift Quality Control Technician to analyze process controls and finished products for conformance to specifications and to monitor aspects of production processes to ensure continuous food safety and quality improvement. 

Essential Duties:

• Monitor and record in-process controls

• Perform in-process and finished product quality checks 

• Monitor production practices to assure optimum production

• Communicate with appropriate production departments on quality test results

• Complete documentation for all monitoring and tests performed in the spec book

• Collect product retain samples

• Place non-conforming product on hold

  • Receive in bulk ingredient shipments

• Perform ATP and allergen testing

  Receive in bulk ingredient shipmen

  Additional Responsibilities:

• Review & Verify quality check data for possible discrepancies or out of spec results. 

• Able to work in other areas of the facility if required. 
• Fill in for QC Lab Techs if short staffed.
• Facilitate communication between shifts and other departments. 
• Perform back-up duties for QA Supervisor as required.
• Other duties in support of business or department needs as required. 

Safety:

• Lead, manage and ensure all safety initiatives or adhered to. Engage all employees in a safety culture of zero tolerance for infractions/violations. 
• Assure safety policies and procedures are adhered to; all proper PPE is worn by employees and the team has safe equipment and no risk is placed on our employees. 

Environmental:

• Monitor plant conditions to ensure that good environmental practices are being followed. 
• Assist Quality Manager as needed on environmental issues 
• Use caution when working with chemicals and report any spills to the Quality and Production Managers immediately 
• Proper disposal of waste 
• Proper use of chemicals 
• Keep work area clean and free of debris 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Good attendance record
• Experience or training up to 1 month or more
• Self-motivated
• Learning, memorizing, and executing a sequence of procedures
• Willing to work well with others
• Ability to lift up to 80lbs
• Firm grasp of manufacturing and quality process
• Basic computer skills
• Good communication and people skills
• Good judgement and reasoning abilities
