Summary of the role
The core mission of the role is to improve manufacturing performance through the optimization of work methods, production standards, and operational processes, driving productivity, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the organization.
As Time and Methods Supervisor, you will lead the Time & Methods function within our Manufacturing organisation. Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the Time & Methods department and support the development and collaboration of two experienced team members.
- Define, maintain and improve production standards, including new cycles, revisions to existing cycles and requirements for new products.
- Conduct time studies and analyse work methods, material movement and value creation directly on the shop floor.
- Identify improvement opportunities and validate them through structured, data-driven analysis.
- Plan and manage productivity and operational improvement projects in collaboration with Manufacturing stakeholders.
- Develop the economic rationale for improvement and investment projects, including expected labour-hour savings and return.
- Monitor implemented projects and compare actual results with the agreed budget and business case.
- Contribute to line balancing, efficient work organisation and the continuous improvement of assembly and production processes.
- Work closely with Production, Logistics, HSE, Industrialisation, Moulding and Production Planning.
- Promote Lean Manufacturing, practical problem-solving and a proactive improvement culture across the organisation.
Skills and Qualifications
Must-have:
- Proven professional experience in Time & Methods or time studies within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience leading a team or department, with approximately three to five years of leadership experience preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with significant amounts of operational and economic data.
- Practical project-management capability, including setting realistic objectives, coordinating stakeholders and driving projects forward.
- Sound knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- A hands-on manufacturing mindset and willingness to spend time on the shop floor observing processes, material movement and value creation.
- Curious, self-motivated and results-oriented approach, with the confidence to challenge established methods and support change.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across different functions and organisational levels.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in discrete product manufacturing; mechanical, metalworking, CNC or assembly environments are particularly relevant.
- Experience with investment projects, business cases or ROI analysis.
- Knowledge of CAD for understanding or adjusting plant layouts.
- Knowledge of ERP systems or SAP.
- Experience with specific Time & Methods or ergonomics software.
- English-language capability.
