Business Operations Specialist, Finance & Transaction Operations

At the center of Virta’s offering is Virta Hub, a charge point management system that helps customers manage charger connectivity, payments, billing, tariffs, invoicing, driver access, roaming, and day-to-day charging operations across sites and markets.

We are now looking for a Business Operations Specialist, Finance & Transaction Operations to join our team.

In this role, you will focus on transaction-related finance operations and data-driven business operations. You will play a key part in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and usability of financial and operational transaction data for internal stakeholders and B2B customers.

We are looking for a data-oriented professional who combines a strong analytical mindset with hands-on technical skills in Python, Snowflake, SQL, and databases. You enjoy bringing finance operations and technical problem-solving together, and improving operational processes through data. You are comfortable with recurring operational processes, but you also look for smarter and more scalable ways to get the work done. You are structured, reliable, and precise, and you move confidently between data analysis, operational execution, and stakeholder collaboration.

What you’ll do

• Produce, validate, and manage accurate transaction and financial data for internal and external stakeholders on a daily and monthly basis

• Support finance and transaction operations by monitoring data flows, reconciling transactions, and investigating exceptions and anomalies

• Analyze financial and operational data to support reporting, business decision-making, and process improvements

• Run and maintain data queries, scripts, and workflows used in transaction operations and reporting

• Work with large datasets in Snowflake and SQL-based environments to ensure reliable and scalable data handling

• Develop and improve Python-based scripts, automations, and checks that support operational efficiency and data quality

• Collaborate closely with Finance, Product, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure transaction data is complete, consistent, and actionable

• Support recurring operational tasks related to financial services, including daily follow-up and monthly reporting cycles

• Identify root causes of data issues and operational bottlenecks, and propose practical improvements

• Maintain clear documentation for processes, data logic, and recurring operational tasks

• Use Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence to manage tasks, document processes, and support cross-team collaboration

To succeed in this role, you will have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field

• 2–4+ years of relevant experience in business operations, finance operations, transaction operations, data operations, or a similar role

• Strong hands-on SQL skills and good understanding of relational databases

• Experience working with Snowflake

• Practical experience with Python for data analysis, scripting, or automation

• Strong understanding of data structures, data quality controls, and operational reporting

• Experience working with financial, transactional, or reconciliation-related data

• Strong Excel or spreadsheet skills

• Analytical and detail-oriented way of working, with the ability to spot inconsistencies and investigate issues independently

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving processes

• Good communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment

• Professional fluency in English

• The position is located in Helsinki Finland and you need relevant working rights

It’s a plus if you also have

• Experience from fintech, payments, billing, invoicing, or transaction-heavy operational environments

• Familiarity with EV charging, roaming, fleet charging, or platform-based transaction models

• Experience with Atlassian tools, especially Jira and Confluence

• Understanding of finance systems, reporting processes, or audit-oriented controls

• Experience with automation, monitoring, or operational process development
