Overview of Position: 

The Spa Attendant at Appellation Healdsburg is the dedicated steward of our spa and wellness spaces, ensuring every treatment room, locker room, lounge, and fitness area reflects the exceptional standards and luxury presentation that define our brand.

The Spa Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and readiness of all spa facilities during assigned shifts. This role ensures that treatment rooms, locker rooms, steam rooms, showers, lounges, retail areas, and fitness spaces are pristine and prepared for guests. Working with attention to detail and a commitment to guest wellness, you will perform thorough cleaning, restocking, and maintenance tasks that uphold the luxury spa experience our guests expect. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

Spa Reception & Retail: 

• Clean and wipe down all furniture on the Folia patio and patio extension, fix placement, adjust cushions, and mop patio floors 
• Vacuum carpet and mop floor in retail area 
• Clean windows inside and outside, ensuring no streaks 
• Carefully wipe down all retail surfaces, ensuring they are free of dust; do not rearrange products or risk damage to any merchandise 

Locker Rooms: 

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize the bathroom stalls (toilet, walls, floor); replenish toilet paper and toilet seat covers as needed 
• Thoroughly clean the 2 shower stalls; empty towel bins; replenish amenity bottles; ensure showers are free of soap scum and hair 
• Using appropriate equipment, clean the steam room; ensure it is turned off prior to cleaning 
• Empty washcloth and used towel bins located by the sink into larger bins in the receiving area 
• Dispose of used slippers 
• Mop the entire locker room floor; clean mirrors and wipe down countertops 

Treatment Rooms (Chalk Hill, Rockpile, Russian River, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek): 

• Wipe down walls, clean the sink, mop the floor, remove trash, and wipe down all surfaces in each room 
• Clean showers and refill/swap out shower products in rooms with shower facilities (Rockpile, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek) 
• Sweep patios, clean patio furniture, remove all cobwebs, and clean windows inside and outside in rooms with exterior patio access (Rockpile, Russian River) 

Indoor Lounge: 

• First sweep, then mop all hard floor surfaces 
• Vacuum carpet 
• Using appropriate equipment, clean all windows and wipe down window ledges 
• Wipe down walls and seating 

Outdoor Lounge: 

• Sweep or use leaf blower to clear debris 
• Wipe down all outdoor furniture 

Gym / Fitness Area: 

• Using appropriate equipment, clean windows inside and outside 
• Mop the floor 
• Clean and sanitize all machines and weights, both indoor and outdoor 
• Clean and sanitize all surfaces including counters, handles, and mirrors 

As-Needed Tasks: 

• Spot treat any stains on outdoor furniture 
• Report any deficiencies in Alice 
• Supply Management: Monitor and restock spa supplies including restroom amenities, amenity bottles, toilet paper, seat covers, paper towels, tissues, and cleaning supplies throughout all shifts 
• High-Touch Surface Sanitization: Perform regular sanitization of door handles, railings, locker handles, light switches, and other frequently touched surfaces in spa areas 
• Waste Management: Empty trash and towel/washcloth receptacles, replace liners, and maintain waste disposal areas; ensure proper recycling and waste separation procedures 
• Floor Care and Maintenance: Perform detailed floor care including vacuuming carpets, mopping hard surfaces, spot cleaning, and maintaining floor finishes in all spa areas 
• Window and Glass Cleaning: Clean windows, glass doors, mirrors, and glass partitions to maintain crystal-clear visibility and luxury presentation 
• Furniture and Fixture Care: Dust, polish, and maintain spa furniture, artwork, decorative items, and fixtures, ensuring proper arrangement and presentation 
• Emergency Spill Response: Respond immediately to spills, accidents, or cleaning emergencies in spa areas, ensuring guest safety and maintaining clean, dry surfaces 
• Safety and Security Monitoring: Observe and report any safety hazards, maintenance needs, or security concerns to appropriate supervisors immediately 
• Guest Interaction: Provide courteous and professional interactions with guests in spa and wellness areas, offering assistance when appropriate and maintaining a serene, welcoming atmosphere 
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of assigned spa areas to ensure all spaces meet luxury hospitality standards and brand presentation requirements 
• Training Participation: Attend all mandatory meetings, training sessions, and safety briefings as directed by housekeeping management 
• Professional Standards: Maintain professional appearance and conduct that reflects the core values of the Appellation brand while working in guest-facing wellness areas 
• Flexible Support: Perform other duties as assigned by the Spa Manager to support overall hotel operations and special events 

Skills & Qualifications: 

• Previous experience in hotel housekeeping, spa attendant work, or commercial cleaning preferred; experience in a luxury hotel or spa environment a plus 
• Daily on-premises presence required 
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining pristine spa, locker room, and wellness facilities 
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to maintain multiple spa areas simultaneously 
• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks throughout entire shift and lift up to 50 pounds regularly 
• Knowledge of proper cleaning chemicals, procedures, and safety protocols for commercial spa and locker room cleaning 
• Understanding of spa sanitation standards and requirements, including steam room and shower maintenance 
• Ability to work efficiently in guest-facing wellness environments while maintaining professional demeanor 
• Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays 
• Knowledge of luxury hospitality standards and commitment to supporting exceptional guest wellness experiences 
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in dynamic, fast-paced environments 
• Excellent customer service skills and professional appearance for guest-facing interactions 
• Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to maintaining confidentiality and security protocols 
• Basic communication skills and ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions 
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and special events 
• Understanding of proper safety procedures when working with cleaning chemicals and operating commercial cleaning equipment 

Essential Functions: 

To perform the duties and requirements for this job, you must have the following physical abilities: 

• Stand and walk for extended periods of time, move between multiple rooms and floors throughout shift 
• Bend, kneel, stoop, and reach frequently while cleaning treatment rooms, locker rooms, and bathrooms 
• Lift and carry cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds 
• Push and pull housekeeping carts and vacuum cleaners 
• Walk up and down stairs on a daily basis 
• See and read cleaning instructions and identify areas requiring attention with or without vision aids 
• Distinguish between different cleaning products and chemicals safely 
• Work in various positions including standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching overhead 
• Constant: standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive use of hands, arms, and legs 
• Frequent: lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling cleaning equipment, climbing stairs, kneeling, stooping, reaching overhead 
• Occasional: heavy lifting, moving furniture, deep cleaning projects, ladder work for high surfaces 
• Hours for this role are late evening – early morning (usually 7PM – 2AM) 

You must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and reach; lift and carry equipment and supplies; walk daily up and down stairs; and work in a fast-paced environment with or without reasonable accommodations.
