The Mapleton Foundry is looking to hire Machinist (Tooling) As a machinist at Caterpillar Inc., you will set up, operate and adjust various gear machines and/or rotary head milling machines to perform precision machining operations on details of dies, jigs and fixtures, miscellaneous tooling, repair parts, prove design parts, etc.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• fabricate, modify, and repair precision tools, molds, and machinery parts for manufacturing processes by operating various machine tools and using blueprints and measuring instruments to meet precise specifications
• sets up, operates and adjusts various gear machines and/or rotary head milling machines to perform precision machining operations on details of dies, jigs and fixtures, miscellaneous tooling, repair parts, prove design parts, etc. Use a variety of special equipment and attachments as required
•  Sets up and operates a special universal grinding machine to perform precise grinding operations on male and female taper spline and serration gauges.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of manual machining Experience
• Ability to frequently lift and carry boxes weighing up to 35 pounds

Top candidates will also have:

• Previous machine shop or foundry experience
• Computer knowledge
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving and decision-making
• Math skills

Summary Pay Range - $30.67- $32.77, plus $1.00 night-shift premium.
