Where you will work:

Carolinas Medical Center which is a 900+ bed, trauma 1 hospital and provides music therapy services throughout all units. Our MT-BCs address symptom management and emotional support but also end-of-life support and rehabilitative work with other therapy teams. There are opportunities for group and individual sessions with a variety of patient populations including but not limited to behavioral health, stroke/neurologic diagnoses, surgical trauma, general medical/surgical, addiction and substance abuse, antepartum, and patients with altered mental status, delirium and dementia. 

• Education

  • Associate’s degree in art, music, or an education-related field required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Certifications

  • National Certification in Music Therapy required for Music Therapists
  • National Certification in Art Therapy preferred for Art Therapists

• Experience

  • Minimum of one year of experience in healthcare Art or Music Therapy
  • At least one year of experience in a medical facility working with neonatal and pediatric populations
  • Experience collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team required
  • Experience in inpatient healthcare or music therapy program preferred
