Office Assistant

Tom James Company, a leading provider of custom clothing and personalized wardrobe services, is seeking a dependable, organized, and professional individual to support our growing Reno office.
This part-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of responsibilities, works independently, pays close attention to detail, and takes pride in delivering exceptional client service.
The Office Professional will assist with administrative tasks, clothing preparation, inventory management, local errands, and occasional client interactions.

As our Reno office continues to grow, this position offers the potential for increased weekly hours within the next eight months.

We currently have a part-time opening in our Reno, NV office. Our position is for 6-8 hours per week at $20.00 per hour. We offer a generous PTO plan, paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan.

Regular onsite attendance is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Clothing & Inventory Management
•    Receive, inspect, organize, and prepare incoming client clothing orders.
•    Steam and prepare garments for client delivery or appointments.
•    Package and ship clothing, including handling UPS shipments and returns.
•    Assist with inventory tracking and organization.
•    Maintain an organized and professional workspace.   Administrative & Client Support
•    Prepare and send personalized thank-you notes and client correspondence.
•    Process, track, and coordinate payment of various business invoices, particularly invoices from outside alteration tailors, following company payment procedures.
•    Maintain accurate records of invoices and payments.
•    Prepare and make bank deposits, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to company procedures.
•    Perform occasional data entry and maintain accurate records.
•    Assist with basic administrative projects as needed.
•    Support social media activities, including occasional content preparation and posting.
•    Assist with other office responsibilities as assigned.   Errands & Client Deliveries
•    Transport garments to and from local alteration tailors.
•    Make occasional trips to UPS and other local businesses.
•    Deliver clothing or other items to clients as needed.
•    Represent Tom James Company professionally during client interactions.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

•    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
•    Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
•    Flexible, adaptable, and willing to handle a variety of tasks.
•    Basic computer proficiency and accurate typing skills of approximately 40 words per minute or better.
•    Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content posting.
•    Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to handle garments carefully and maintain quality standards.
•    Own reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
•    Ability to maintain client confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
•    Previous administrative, retail, customer service, or office support experience preferred.
•    Ability to bend and lift 30 lbs.
•    Valid driver’s license is required except in larger metropolitan areas where driving is not required).

Schedule & Growth Opportunity

This position requires availability during the following scheduled hours:
•    Tuesday: 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
•    Thursday: 1:00–5:00 p.m., with occasional adjustments to 2:00–6:00 p.m.   Weekly hours are anticipated to range from 6 to 8, depending on office needs.   There is potential for additional weekly hours within the next eight months as the Reno office expands. Any increase in hours will depend on business needs.   Dress Code: Business casual. Because this position may involve direct interaction with clients, a polished, professional appearance consistent with a luxury custom clothing business is expected.   Ideal Candidate
