Job Description

We are seeking a Financial Application Support Specialist to provide day-to-day support for financial and business applications, with a primary focus on Deltek Vantagepoint and related systems. This position plays a key role in supporting Accounting, Finance, Operations, and Business users by maintaining system functionality, providing reporting and data support, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting ERP, CRM, and financial applications, possess a strong understanding of accounting processes, and be comfortable working with data, reporting tools, and business users across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities

Application Support

• Provide day-to-day support for Deltek Vantagepoint users and related financial applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, escalating to vendors when appropriate.
• Support user setup, security roles, permissions, and system administration tasks.
• Assist with system upgrades, testing, patches, and new feature deployments.
• Create and maintain user documentation, training materials, and support procedures.

Reporting & Data Analysis

• Run recurring and ad hoc reports for Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Leadership teams.
• Analyze and validate data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with report development, maintenance, troubleshooting, and distribution.
• Support reporting initiatives using Deltek, SQL Server, SSRS, Excel, and other reporting tools.

Accounting & Financial Systems Support

• Support business processes related to:
  • Project Accounting
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • Billing
  • Expense Management
  • Timesheets and Labor Reporting
  • Revenue Recognition
• Assist users with troubleshooting financial transactions and workflow issues.
• Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to improve process efficiency and data quality.

Cash Application & Collections Support

• Support cash application, collections, and accounts receivable systems.
• Assist with cash application processing, reconciliation, customer account maintenance, and reporting.
• Troubleshoot integration and data issues between ERP, banking, and cash application systems.
• Support collections reporting, customer master data maintenance, and related AR processes.

Data Imports & Integrations

• Perform and support data imports, exports, and data conversion activities.
• Validate imported data and resolve import-related errors.
• Assist with data mapping and integration efforts between ERP, CRM, and third-party applications.
• Support ongoing data governance and system maintenance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2-5 years of experience supporting ERP, CRM, or financial business applications.
• Working knowledge of accounting and financial processes.
• Experience supporting end users in a business application environment.
• Experience supporting Deltek Vantagepoint or Deltek Vision.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power Query, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Importing and manipulating large datasets
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work with users at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting cash applications, collections, or accounts receivable platforms.
• Knowledge of project-based accounting and professional services organizations.
• Experience with reporting and business intelligence tools.
• Experience working in professional services, engineering, consulting, or acquisition-driven organization. 
• Exposure to system integrations, workflow automation, or financial reporting tools.

Job Type: Full-Time, 4 days a week in office with one hybrid/ remote day (Temp to Hire Opportunity)

Salary: $85-105k
