The Opportunity

This isn't your typical marketing desk job.

As our Brand & Marketing Engagement Lead, you'll play a key role in shaping how Spirit of Math connects with our campuses, families, communities, and external partners.

You'll work closely with our Marketing Manager as a senior strategic partner, helping bring marketing plans to life while taking ownership of brand engagement, campus relationships, public relations, marketing training, and event marketing.

One day you might be brainstorming a new campaign. The next, you could be visiting a campus, coordinating a media opportunity, supporting a grand opening, or developing marketing training for our campus teams.

What You'll Be Doing

Be a Brand Champion

• Help bring the Spirit of Math brand to life through creative campaigns, compelling messaging, storytelling, and memorable experiences.
• Develop campaign concepts, creative briefs, and brand messaging that support our marketing strategy.
• Ensure our brand is represented consistently across marketing materials, events, partnerships, and campus communications.
• Collaborate with our Digital Marketing & Content Specialist and creative partners to turn ideas into engaging marketing initiatives.
• Identify new opportunities to build brand awareness, strengthen our reputation, and connect with families.

Build Relationships Across Our Campus Network

• Serve as a key Marketing Department contact for our corporate and franchise campuses.
• Build strong relationships with Campus Principals, Franchise Owners, and Campus Operations teams.
• Visit campuses throughout the GTA regularly to understand their needs, provide marketing guidance, and identify opportunities.
• Help campuses plan and execute local marketing initiatives, community outreach, grand openings, and promotional activities.
• Develop practical marketing resources and support that help campuses succeed.

Lead Sales & Marketing Training

• Take ownership of developing and delivering sales and marketing training for our campus teams.
• Create engaging training materials, presentations, tools, and resources.
• Help campus teams build confidence in promoting their programs, connecting with prospective families, and executing local marketing initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen marketing knowledge and best practices across our network.

Make Headlines & Build Partnerships

• Manage the day-to-day relationship with our external public relations agency.
• Coordinate media opportunities, PR campaigns, awards submissions, thought leadership initiatives, and brand storytelling.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and internal subject-matter experts to identify stories worth sharing.
• Build relationships with external partners and identify opportunities to strengthen Spirit of Math's visibility and reputation.

Bring Events to Life

• Support marketing for major Spirit of Math events, including conferences, graduations, contests, partner events, and campus launches.
• Coordinate event branding, promotional materials, signage, photography, and communications.
• Help campuses identify suitable community events, sponsorships, fairs, and local promotional opportunities.
• Develop event marketing resources and toolkits that campuses can use.
• Oversee the tracking, coordination, and invoicing of event marketing materials and rentals.

Be a Key Partner to Our Marketing Manager

• Work closely with the Marketing Manager to translate strategic priorities into actionable marketing initiatives.
• Help coordinate projects, manage competing priorities, and keep stakeholders informed.
• Represent the Marketing Department in meetings and cross-functional initiatives.
• Bring forward insights from campuses, partners, and events to help strengthen our overall marketing approach.
• Take ownership of initiatives and ensure ideas move from planning to successful execution.

What You'll Bring to the Team

We're looking for someone who combines creativity, strategic thinking, strong relationship-building skills, and exceptional follow-through.

Our ideal candidate has:

• A university degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field.
• 5–8+ years of progressive experience in marketing, brand management, communications, stakeholder engagement, or a related field.
• Strong experience developing marketing campaigns, brand initiatives, and engaging communications.
• Excellent relationship-building skills and the confidence to work with campus leaders, franchise owners, executives, and external partners.
• Experience coordinating public relations activities and working with external agencies.
• Strong presentation, communication, and training skills.
• Experience supporting events, partnerships, community engagement, or local marketing initiatives.
• Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
• A proactive, collaborative attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for bringing ideas to life.
• Experience in education, franchising, or a multi-location organization would be a definite asset.

A Few Important Details

• Head Office Based: This position works from our Toronto Head Office.
• Campus Visits: Regular travel to Spirit of Math campuses throughout the Greater Toronto Area is an important part of the role.
• Driver's Licence: A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel between campus locations are required.
• Event Flexibility: Some evening and weekend work will be required to support events and special initiatives, with time off in lieu in accordance with company policy.
• Future Opportunities: As Spirit of Math continues to grow, there may be opportunities to support new campus launches and expansion initiatives beyond the GTA.
