We’re building the next generation of Schibsted’s media products

Schibsted’s product ambition is to reinvent our media destinations for the AI era to make our journalism a relevant daily habit for more people. Most of that work happens in our existing product organisation, where we continuously improve and reinvent products used by millions of people every day. But some opportunities require something different: more freedom from today’s products and business models, longer horizons, greater uncertainty and permission to challenge the core.

That's why we're setting up Schibsted Product Lab.

Product Lab is a small, autonomous product environment that builds, launches and tests the next generation of Schibsted’s media products with real users. We start small, increase investment as evidence grows, stop ideas that do not prove themselves, and help successful products become part of, or reshape, Schibsted’s core.

We are now looking for a Senior Product Manager to join the Product Lab core team!

How we want to work

Our ambition is to make Product Lab an AI-enabled, high-velocity product environment where we can move from idea to execution at high speed. We want to push the boundaries of how emerging technologies can transform the way we discover, design and build products, equipping small teams with the tools and capabilities to turn ambitious ideas into real user experiences in days rather than months. We embrace experimentation, challenge established ways of working and prioritise learning over perfection. And we see the ability to confidently stop an idea that doesn't work as just as important as knowing when to invest further.

The role and mission

As Senior Product Manager in Schibsted Product Lab, you will lead the development of new product ideas that could shape the future of our media destinations. You will take promising opportunities from early hypotheses to tangible products, working with small, cross-functional teams to build, launch and test new experiences with real users.

Unlike traditional product management roles focused on established products, this role is about discovering what we should build next and finding out whether it deserves to exist. You will operate in an environment where the problems are not always well-defined, the solutions are uncertain, and the goal is to generate evidence quickly enough to make confident decisions.

You will take product ownership of assigned initiatives, from early-stage seeds to more developed bets. Working closely with the Director of Product Lab and specialists in UX, technology and editorial development, you will turn opportunities into clear product propositions, drive day-to-day product decisions and help determine which ideas should progress, pivot or stop.

What you will do

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial product manager who thrives at the intersection of strategy, discovery and hands-on product development. You enjoy turning ambiguity into action, are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, and know how to balance ambitious thinking with pragmatic experimentation.

You are as interested in discovering what users might need tomorrow as you are in building something they can use today. You know when to explore broadly, when to narrow the focus, and when there is enough evidence to make a decision.

We believe you need to bring:

Experience working with emerging technologies, AI-enabled products or new digital media experiences is particularly valuable, as is an understanding of the changing ways people discover, consume and interact with journalism.
