Vista/ Winter Ski Bar Barback (Seasonal)

Job Summary

The Bar Back assists the bartenders and servers to ensure prompt, seamless service by stocking the bars with liquors, supplies, and garnishes, keeping an accurate inventory of supplies, cleaning, and running food items.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with opening and closing duties such as restocking the bar with ice, liquor, wine, beer, garnishes, straws, and napkins. 
• Maintain overall appearance and cleanliness of the bar and associated areas by removing soiled glassware and dishes, wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles. 
• Understand the restaurant menus and runs for food. 
• Take orders, prepare drinks, and process payments during peak hours or as needed. 
• Provide excellent guest service when speaking to customers, answering questions, and handling complaints. 
• Maintain accurate records, ensures that items are stored and rotated properly, and reports usage to assist in the reordering process.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous bar back, bussing, or bartending experience or related education and certifications preferred.

Physical & Other Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
• The duties of this job are physically demanding. Must be able to run up and down flights of stairs while carrying cases of product frequently throughout the shift.
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. 
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
• Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration.
• Non-smoking candidates preferred.
