CONTRIBUTING TO THE CMPA

The Safe Medical Care & EDI group contributes to the key strategic objective of advancing safe medical care, by leveraging knowledge and expertise to identify member needs, and better understand their medico-legal risk. The group works with corporate and safe medical care analytics and uses these insights to create knowledge translation products to design and deliver learning to enhance the safety, reliability, and quality of healthcare in Canada. The group collaborates with Member Experience physician advisors to construct a dynamic approach towards member needs assessment, learning product evolution, evaluation and continuous improvement. The group also leads a collaborative approach to implementing the Organizational Learning Program Plan, which endeavours to provide a robust learning environment that will support staff, leaders, and councillors in their ongoing learning and skills development.  In addition, this group plays a pivotal role in driving the integration of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles throughout the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA). This commitment extends to governance, to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all employees, and to ensuring that our services to members reflect these core values. Together with the leadership team across CMPA, this group champions EDI initiatives and strives to create a workplace where diverse perspectives are valued, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Our dedication to EDI not only enhances our organizational culture but also strengthens our ability to serve our members with empathy respect, and protects the professional integrity of physicians, and promotes safe medical care
