Position Overview:

Finning is seeking Heavy Duty Mechanics to support our Mining client in Nunavut. In this role, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment and CAT C-175 Prime power units.

Job Description:

Operate and repair Caterpillar generators in a powerhouse setting
Diagnose and troubleshoot C175 engine or genset repairs
Diagnosis and repair engines, generator, fuel system, heat exchangers and PLC controllers in the powerhouse
Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
Complete technical documentation (daily service reports, warranty, crossover notes, inspections)
Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
Work with the Service Supervisor on various tasks as required

Qualifications

Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician; Dual Ticket Electrical would be an asset
Preference given to candidates with C-175 experience
Valid drivers licence with a successful recent drivers abstract
Prior powerhouse operation experience would be considered an asset
Supervisory control system experience including Woodward, SCADA ,DSLC, emcp 4.1-4.4 would be considered an asset
Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
Previous Caterpillar power generation or mining experience would be considered an asset

Schedule:
- 12 Hours per Day - Paid on a 5x2 schedule
Travel Assistance to get to marshalling point (tax free)
Up to $1,200 per rotation (to cover associated costs of getting to marshalling point)
Customer flights provided from Edmonton or Yellowknife
Customer Camp provided
