SUMMARY

Achev, in partnership with the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB Group), will deliver the Building Strong Foundations – Try a Trade Project for Youth, a pre-apprenticeship initiative designed to introduce youth aged 18–29 in Peel and Halton (Milton) to careers in welding and related skilled trades. This program addresses Ontario’s critical skilled trades shortage by providing hands-on technical training, developing employability skills, and offering paid work placements, while promoting diversity and inclusion among underrepresented youth groups.

The Employer Liaison/Coach, reporting to the Workforce Development Coordinator, will work with the project team to deliver program activities directly, including liaising with partners to develop or enhance a customised program curriculum. They will organize and facilitate the delivery of information sessions and hybrid workshops for youth and employers; facilitate workshops; conduct group assessments; and maintain and compile accurate data and information in accordance with Achēv and MLITSD reporting requirements.
