Infrastructure Services Automation Lead

I’m Nerijus Šarnas, Head of IT Service Management at Telia Lietuva, and I’m looking for an Infrastructure Services Automation Lead to help us make automation a core capability across ITSM.

What you’ll do:

You’ll own the ITSM automation function—from identifying opportunities and setting priorities to delivering reliable solutions through your team.

• Lead and develop a team of automation engineers, setting clear direction, building their capabilities, and supporting delivery.
• Turn operational challenges into automation opportunities, working with ITSM team leads and stakeholders to understand processes and define practical solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain automation solutions, including runbook automation, operational workflows, and end-to-end process automation.
• Shape our engineering approach, defining and evolving automation standards, tooling, and practices.
• Own the automation roadmap, prioritizing initiatives and guiding them from idea to implementation.
• Make the impact visible, measuring time and capacity saved, errors reduced, and improvements in service quality.
• Scale automation across ITSM, helping teams reduce manual effort and adopt better ways of working.
  

What will help you thrive in this role:

You’re an engineer who has built automation that works in the real world—and you’re ready to help others do the same. You can go deep technically, understand the wider context, and bring people together around a clear outcome.

• Hands-on IT automation experience: you’ve written code, built pipelines, and supported solutions running in production.
• Practical knowledge of AWX / Ansible and Python, alongside relevant IT operations automation tools and frameworks.
• The ability to transform a manual IT process into an automated workflow, understanding it end to end before designing the solution.
• Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders, gathering requirements, agreeing on scope, and delivering solutions to real problems.
• Curiosity and sound judgment: you ask useful questions, challenge assumptions, and explore the details when they matter.
• Ownership and follow-through: you define success, drive delivery, and check whether the solution achieved its purpose.
• Readiness to lead and develop others, alongside your own technical contribution.
• Fluency in Lithuanian and English.

Monthly salary range for this position 6160 Eur – 8500 Eur (gross) + annual performance. Although it may vary depending on your skills and experience.
