Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino is seeking an exceptional Hotel Manager to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, commercial performance, and outstanding guest experiences.

The Opportunity

As Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operational management of the hotel, ensuring the highest standards of guest service, financial performance, operational efficiency, and team engagement.

Working closely with the General Manager and departmental leaders, you will drive business performance, enhance guest satisfaction, develop talent, and ensure the property consistently delivers on its commercial and operational objectives.

This role requires a leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational execution, remaining highly visible within the operation while maintaining a strong focus on profitability, service excellence, and employee development.

What You Will Lead

Operational Excellence : You will:

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of all hotel departments.
• Ensure exceptional service delivery and guest experiences across all touchpoints.
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and quality standards throughout the hotel.
• Maintain Avani brand standards and ensure consistent execution across all departments.
• Oversee the effective management of hotel assets, facilities, and infrastructure.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure departments are appropriately resourced to meet current and future business demands.

Commercial & Financial Performance

You will:

• Support the achievement of revenue, GOP, profitability, and overall business performance targets.
• Lead the execution of strategic initiatives that drive revenue growth and market competitiveness.
• Monitor departmental budgets, expenses, and productivity levels to ensure effective cost management.
• Identify opportunities to maximise revenues across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Meetings & Events, and ancillary services.
• Analyse business trends, operational data, and financial reports to improve performance.
• Collaborate closely with Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to optimise results.

Guest Experience & Brand Leadership

You will:

• Champion a guest-centric culture focused on exceeding expectations.
• Drive guest satisfaction, loyalty, and brand reputation.
• Monitor guest feedback and implement service recovery and improvement initiatives.
• Ensure the consistent delivery of Avani brand standards and service excellence.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, clients, and key stakeholders.
• Serve as a visible and approachable leader within the hotel operation.

People & Culture Leadership

You will:

• Inspire, coach, and develop Department Heads and their teams.
• Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and service excellence.

• Lead talent development, succession planning, and performance management initiatives.
• Promote learning and development opportunities to build future leaders.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, employment legislation, and best practice people management principles.

Compliance, Risk & Governance

You will:

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, security, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain adherence to Avani and Minor Hotels operating standards.
• Support risk management initiatives and internal control processes.
• Ensure audit requirements are effectively managed and addressed.
• Drive a culture of compliance and operational discipline throughout the organization.

Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, Tourism Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years' management experience within the hospitality industry.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership position within a hotel, resort, or integrated hospitality environment.
• Proven experience managing multi-department hotel operations.
• Strong knowledge of hotel financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue optimization.
• Demonstrated success in improving operational performance and guest satisfaction.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing large and diverse teams.

Preferred Requirements

• Postgraduate qualification, MBA, or Master's Degree.
• Experience within an internationally branded hotel environment.
• Experience working within resort, leisure, or gaming operations.
• Regional or multi-property leadership exposure.
