Join Us in Making a Difference, One Lunch at a Time!

Do you enjoy working in a community-focused kitchen and helping volunteers feel welcome and confident in their roles?

BB4CK is seeking a warm, adaptable Kitchen Engagement Coordinator to join our team in a permanent, full-time role (40 hours per week).

In this hands-on role, you'll support the daily production of nutritious lunches for kids across Calgary and help create an inclusive environment where volunteers can contribute meaningfully.

If you bring compassion, collaboration, and a commitment to BB4CK’s values, we'd love to hear from you.

About Us

Brown Bagging for Calgary's Kids (BB4CK) is a community-funded non-profit organization that has been working for 35 years to make sure kids across Calgary have access to the food they need.

Together with the BB4CK community — donors, volunteers, school staff, and partners — we care for kids and families year-round. We work across the food insecurity spectrum by preparing and delivering lunches to children in schools and summer camps, offering families a dignified choice through grocery cards, and advocating for systemic change in Calgary's emergency food sector.

Our vision: A future where communities ensure no kids go hungry.

Our mission: Connect and inspire people to take meaningful action to feed and care for kids.

Position Overview

The Kitchen Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and principle-aligned environment in the BB4CK Central Kitchen. This role supports the daily operations of the lunch program by building strong relationships with volunteers, ensuring safe, efficient kitchen operations, and fostering a sense of community and purpose.

The KEC helps volunteers feel supported, prepared, and connected to BB4CK’s vision while contributing to producing and distributing nutritious lunches for kids across Calgary. The role works closely with the Central Kitchen Team, Volunteer Engagement Team, and other internal partners to support food safety, efficient workflows, and positive volunteer experiences. Kitchen practices are guided by BB4CK standards and Alberta Health Services (AHS) requirements.
