Team Member, Team 1 (Monitoring & Detection)

[Important Note: This role operates on a 24/7 shift rotation schedule, which includes working on weekends and public holidays based on operational requirements.]

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Team Member, Team 1 (Monitoring & Detection) to join our team at RHB Bank Berhad. In this role, you'll be responsible for monitoring customer banking activities, detecting potential fraudulent transactions, and taking timely actions to mitigate fraud risks. You will play a critical role in safeguarding customers and the Bank by investigating suspicious activities, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

What you will be doing

• Review, analyze, and resolve cases generated by the fraud detection system within established service level agreements (SLAs).

• Monitor customers' internet banking activities and transactions to identify suspicious or potentially fraudulent activities, including phone scams, phishing scams, TAC scams, and other emerging fraud threats.

• Conduct callback verification with customers regarding suspicious internet banking activities and transactions flagged by the fraud detection system.

• Investigate and resolve queued transactions promptly to mitigate fraud risks and minimize potential financial losses.

• Prepare and escalate Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to Group Compliance when required.

• Address and resolve customer issues within the scope of established service standards and SLAs.

• Provide feedback and recommendations on recurring issues, process improvements, and emerging fraud trends affecting customers and operational teams.

• Manage NSRC cases received through the NFP portal and liaise with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Floor Managers when necessary.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant internal policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and risk management guidelines.

• Perform any ad hoc duties and assignments as directed by the Team Lead.

What we're looking for

• A degree or professional qualification from an institution recognized by the Government of Malaysia.

• Candidates with knowledge and/or experience in fraud monitoring, fraud detection, financial crime operations, banking operations, risk management, or customer service within the financial services industry.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.

• Ability to assess situations quickly and provide solutions to impromptu issues and enquiries.

• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

• Patient, customer-focused, and an active listener with the ability to understand different perspectives.

• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and capable of handling operational systems efficiently.

• Fresh graduates with a strong interest in banking operations, fraud prevention, or financial crime management are encouraged to apply.
