Venture Associate

Every breakthrough starts small. As our new Venture Associate, you'll help them grow big.

PSV Hafnium is an early-stage venture fund taking bets on pioneering scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs in deep tech. We back Nordic teams with global ambitions and help them scale technological breakthroughs into impactful global solutions. We're looking for someone who is curious about how those technologies work – and what it takes to bring them to market.

We're a small team of engineers, physicists, former founders and operators. We nerd out on science, challenge each other's thinking and have each other's backs. And everyone has a voice – including you.

What you'll do
You'll work closely with our partners on investment activities and the day-to-day work of the fund. Your responsibilities will include:

• Sourcing startups: Identify promising companies and help manage our investment pipeline.

• Evaluating opportunities: Analyse technologies, markets and business models as part of technical and commercial due diligence.

• Building relationships: Develop trusted connections with founders, researchers and ecosystem partners.

• Representing PSV Hafnium: Meet founders and potential collaborators at conferences, universities, startup hubs and other events across the Nordics.

What you bring
You combine technical understanding with commercial curiosity. You enjoy getting up to speed on unfamiliar topics, asking thoughtful questions and forming a view from incomplete information. You're also empathetic, interested in people and motivated to make a positive difference.

We imagine you bring:

• A university degree in natural sciences or engineering.

• Around 2–3 years of professional experience, ideally in strategy, consulting, business development, another commercial role, a startup or venture capital.

• Strong analytical skills and an interest in what it takes to turn complex technologies into viable businesses.

• An international mindset and cross-cultural understanding are valued, and experience studying and/or working abroad is a plus.

• Enthusiasm for working with science-based founders and exploring emerging technologies

• A wish to travel, attend conferences and spend time in the ecosystem.

Speaking Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

PSV Hafnium is based at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), as part of the PSV Venture House. While we believe in the power of collaboration and spending time together in the office, we also value flexibility and embrace the possibility of remote work.

We’d love to hear from you – even if you don’t tick every box. This is our best attempt to describe the role realistically. At the end of the day, we don’t care too much about traditional credentials if your drive and mindset are aligned. Sometimes, the right person is someone we haven’t yet had the imagination to look for.
