Help us keep the lights on for Texas! Our Illumination group develops and oversees standards, specifications, practices, and policies for roadway lighting on Texas highways. We work with TxDOT Districts, contractors, and consultants to design, build, and maintain safe and effective roadway lighting and electrical systems. We work with manufacturers and suppliers to specify and approve standard lighting and electrical equipment used throughout the state. We develop and oversee classroom, field, and online training programs covering lighting, electrical, and safety practices for TxDOT employees, contractors, and consultants.
