Description
- Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules related to student code of conduct
- Resolve conflict or confrontation between students and report disturbances to immediate supervisor
- Investigate complaints, disturbances, or violations
- Control traffic and parking on campus grounds
- Register student vehicles and maintain accurate records of registration
- Document, record and report vandalism and car accidents and prepare activity reports for theft
- Assist law enforcement personnel as needed
- Give directions or escort students, authorized visitors, disruptive individuals or cargo to designated locations
- Monitor entrance or exit of persons, as needed
- Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and properties and prevent passage of prohibited articles into school areas
- Attend extra-curricular activities and graduation to provide student supervision, when necessary
- Maintain a good working relationship and professional demeanor with security personnel, DISD staff, students, parents, and community members
- Monitor alarm system to detect emergencies and notify police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attention
- Warn persons of minor infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
- Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned
- Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment /alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees/campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel.
