Let's build new business together
At whataventure, we work with leading companies to identify, build and launch new businesses.
We are looking for a Lead Venture Architect who can take ownership at the intersection of entrepreneurship, strategy and execution – someone who can turn ambitious ideas into real business, lead teams and become a trusted partner to our clients.
This isn't a role where you develop a strategy and hand it over. You will work from identifying an opportunity and shaping the business model to validating it with real customers, developing the go-to-market approach and getting a venture ready to launch and scale.
What you will be doing
Build ventures
Lead venture-building projects from opportunity identification and validation through business model development, go-to-market and launch.
Turn ambiguity into direction and move teams from assumptions toward real market evidence and decisions.
Work hands-on with customers, markets and data to validate opportunities.
Develop innovative business models and translate strategy into concrete execution.
Lead teams & projects
Take end-to-end responsibility for projects, including team leadership, client collaboration, quality and delivery.
Lead multidisciplinary teams of Venture Architects.
Coach and develop colleagues and create an environment where people can take ownership and do their best work.
Manage complex stakeholder environments and keep teams moving toward a common goal.
Work with our clients
Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders and become a trusted sparring partner for new business and innovation.
Challenge assumptions and bring an entrepreneurial perspective into corporate environments.
Recognize opportunities for follow-on work and support proposals and pitches together with our leadership team.
What you need to be successful in this role
You might come from strategy consulting, venture building, entrepreneurship, corporate innovation or a combination of these worlds.
What matters most is that you bring:
7+ years of relevant experience in venture building, strategy consulting, entrepreneurship, new business development or a comparable environment.
A track record of leading complex projects and teams.
Strong strategic thinking combined with a bias toward execution.
The ability to understand customers, markets, business models and financial implications.
Confidence working with senior stakeholders and challenging their thinking when needed.
An entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in ambiguity.
Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
Fluency in German and English.
Why whataventure?
Build, don't just advise.
We don't stop with recommendations. We test, build and work toward creating real businesses.
Take real ownership.
You will have meaningful responsibility for your ventures, clients, team and outcomes.
Develop your own expertise.
Great venture builders don't all look the same. Whether your strength lies in go-to-market, product, sales, technology, venture strategy or another area, we want you to build depth and bring that expertise into our work.
Work directly with decision-makers.
You'll work closely with senior leaders at ambitious organizations and help turn new growth opportunities into reality.
And you'll do it as part of a collaborative, entrepreneurial team with learning and development opportunities, daily lunch and transportation benefits, team events and regular off-sites.
Ready to build?
If you've spent the last few years advising, building or scaling businesses and want more ownership over what actually gets built, we'd love to meet you.
Let's build what comes next.
