Data Lead

We are currently looking for Data Leads to grow our capabilities and support our customers in business-driven data and AI initiatives. In your assignments, you lead a delivery team and key data workstreams, working with customer representatives, vendors, and sometimes Sofigate colleagues. You might recognize yourself from titles such as Data Lead, Data Governance Lead, Master Data Manager, Migration Manager, Analytics Lead, or Data Project Manager.

What will you do

Typically, you could work with master data and data governance initiatives, solution renewal–related migrations, or analytics projects. In addition, some of our assignments focus on building something truly data-driven, such as enabling advanced analytics, AI/ML use cases, or data products, in close collaboration with data engineers and data scientists.

We also see AI transforming data management itself. From AI-powered data quality and governance to agentic AI solutions that automate data management activities, we are looking for people who are curious about these opportunities and can help customers turn them into real business value.

Your role goes beyond delivering technical solutions. You help customers connect their business objectives with data strategy, governance, and execution, ensuring that data initiatives deliver measurable outcomes.

The type of projects you work in can be influenced by you: you can either deepen your existing expertise or learn new topics to forge your own core skill set.

Projects can be delivered using either Waterfall or Agile and follow the Business Technology Standard (read more at www.managebt.org) or the methodology utilized in the customer environment. Either way, each project offers opportunities to learn, deliver tangible outcomes, and create real customer value.

As our future Data Lead, you are passionate about achieving results with our customers and exceeding their expectations. You can quickly take ownership of a project or a data workstream and create a sense of confidence and clarity, so the customer knows they are in capable hands and moving toward their goals.

To succeed in this role, you:

• Bring strong leadership and management skills and actively develop them further

• Understand business drivers and can translate business needs into actionable data initiatives and measurable outcomes

• Thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with diverse stakeholders

• Are comfortable presenting to and engaging in discussions with senior management

• Bring structure to complex data topics by aligning stakeholders around data governance, ownership, decision-making, and ways of working

• Have an AI-native mindset: you actively explore and apply AI in your own work and recognize opportunities to transform traditional data management practices

• Bring fresh perspectives and ideas on business-driven data leadership and how emerging AI capabilities can create competitive advantage

• Are fluent in both Finnish and English due to our customer needs

You could already have previous experience in

• Leading data migration, master data, or data governance initiatives (e.g., data ownership, data quality management, policies, operating model, metadata management, and cross-functional collaboration)

• Delivering analytics / BI / data platform projects where data is transformed into insights and decision-making support

• Running data-intensive transformation projects where data is used to build something new, such as enabling AI/ML or data science use cases together with technical teams

• Applying AI or agentic solutions to data management, such as automating data quality processes, metadata management, data governance workflows, or other data-intensive activities

• Driving business-oriented data strategies and helping organizations identify and realize value from their data assets

• Working with different project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Portfolio Gate models)

• Operating at the intersection of business and IT

• Consulting experience
