Sales Executive - Dar es Salaam (4)

Purpose of the role

The candidate for this role will be responsible for acquiring and onboarding new merchants, driving revenue and transaction growth within an assigned territory, managing the sales pipeline, and building long-term merchant relationships while ensuring disciplined CRM usage, accurate reporting, and compliance with internal procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, prospect, and onboard new merchants within the assigned territory to achieve merchant acquisition and revenue targets.

• Drive revenue and transaction volume growth through consultative selling, product demonstrations, proposals, negotiations, and effective deal closure.

• Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-ups, accurate CRM records, structured sales execution, and reliable forecasting.

• Support merchant onboarding, KYC and internal approval procedures, and early-stage activation to accelerate transaction volumes and platform adoption.

• Build and maintain long-term merchant relationships, identifying opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, increased payment volumes, and expanded product usage.

• Monitor merchant activity and proactively address adoption barriers to support retention, portfolio stability, and account growth.

• Prepare periodic sales reports covering performance, pipeline status, merchant activity, market trends, and areas for improvement.

• Collaborate with Marketing, Product, Risk, Technology, and Operations teams to resolve onboarding and operational challenges.

• Conduct market research and monitor competitor activity to identify new business opportunities and provide relevant market intelligence.

• Ensure adherence to company policies, compliance standards, KYC requirements, and approved pricing guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field

• Minimum of 2+ years of proven experience in B2B sales or business development

• Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding revenue and customer acquisition targets

• Strong understanding of retail and SME market dynamics

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems

• Strong negotiation, presentation, relationship management, and closing skills

• Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili

• Strong commercial acumen, communication, research, planning, and reporting skills
