業務内容

メルカリグループが掲げるミッション「あらゆる価値を循環させ、あらゆる人の可能性を広げる」ーここでいう「価値」は、メルカリで売買される「モノ」だけではありません。暗号資産、NFT、ギガなど、幅広い価値の循環が、あらゆる人の可能性を広げると信じています。

本ポジションは、「新しい価値の創出」×「価値の循環」の実現を目指し、プロダクト開発の上流フェーズから深く関与し、リサーチで得た本質的な洞察によって事業の意思決定をリードします。

具体的な業務内容

• より良いお客さま体験と事業成長へのコミット
• お客さまに届けたい価値の実現に向けた各種部門との連携
• 定量調査・定性調査に基づく課題の特定
• 事業・プロダクト・施策の成功確率を高めるための分析の実施と提案
• リサーチから得られた洞察を具体アクションに繋げるための継続的な議論への参加
• 社内の全メンバーのお客さま視点の醸成および仕組作り
• リサーチに基づいて得られたインサイトの全社への発信
• AIを活用したリサーチの推進 （例：ResearchOps、学習コンテンツの開発）

• 創業当初からメルカリアプリはマーケットプレイス、ペイメント、暗号資産、モバイルといった一見異なる事業も、価値の循環を通して「One UX」を貫いてきました。個別の機能や施策だけでなく、プロダクト全体に関わる事業戦略やグループ横断でのお客さま体験の検討 / 新規事業の立ち上げ推進など、リサーチを軸に大きな影響を与えられるポジションです。
• 単にリサーチのレポーティングで終わるのではなく経営層や事業責任者と直接向き合い、事業を前進させるための議論に参加します。
• 国内外の新しい技術トレンドや未来の生活者の兆しを捉え、未だ存在しない市場を0から創る──簡単ではありませんが、不確実性の高い領域だからこそ、リサーチの力がより活きる機会があります。
• 暗号資産やNFTなどのWeb3領域は、お客さまにとってまだ馴染みの薄い存在です。しかし、誰もが当たり前に使いこなせる世界を本気で目指すプロフェッショナルなデザイナー・PM・アナリストなどの仲間たちと一丸となり、徹底的にUXを追求できる環境です。
• 生成AIを活用してリサーチの効率化・高品質化・民主化に積極的に取り組んでおり、リサーチのプロセス・在り方自体の進化にコミットできる、ユニークで挑戦的な役割です。
• 様々なステークホルダーと仕事を行う中で、本ポジションには以下3点が求められます。
• ステークホルダーと同じ視座に立った議論
• お客さま価値の創造と最大化に責任を持ち、それを脅かす場合にはstopやpivotの提案も恐れない当事者意識

• 求める経験・スキル
• メルカリグループおよび各カンパニーのミッションとバリューに共感していただける方
• サービスやプロダクトに関連するリサーチの実務経験が5年以上、またはそれに相当する知識・スキル
• 他部署との協業によるサービスやプロダクト改善プロジェクトの実施経験
• 調査課題の設定およびそれを解決するための企画～分析・報告までの一連の業務を自律的に遂行できる能力
• 手法：インタビュー調査、アンケート調査、フィールド調査、ダイアリー調査、または他の新しい方法など
• テーマ：市場実態把握、ニーズ探索調査、コンセプトテスト、ユーザビリティテスト、上市後振り返り
• 分析結果をステークホルダーが意思決定できる状態で伝達する能力
• 強い好奇心とお客さまを共感を持って理解すること（Empathy）への貪欲さ
• 歓迎する経験・スキル

Work Responsibilities

In Mercari Group’s mission, “circulate all forms of value to unleash the potential in all people,” the “value” is not limited to the physical items that are bought and sold on Mercari. We believe that circulating value in many different forms, such as cryptoassets, NFTs, and mobile data, can unleash the potential in all people.

This position will focus on creating new value and circulating that value. You will also be deeply involved from the upstream phase of product development and lead business decision-making through essential insights gained from research.

Specific work responsibilities

• Commit to achieving a better user experience and business growth
• Collaborate with various teams to realize the value we want to deliver to our users
• Identify issues based on quantitative and qualitative research
• Conduct analysis and make proposals for ways to increase the likelihood of success of our business, products, and initiatives
• Participate in ongoing discussions to turn insights gained from research into concrete actions
• Create mechanisms to foster a user-centric perspective for all Mercari members
• Communicate insights gained from research to the entire company
• Promote research that leverages AI (e.g., ResearchOps, development of learning content) 

Unique Challenges

• Since its founding, the Mercari app has maintained a “One UX” approach by connecting the circulation of value across seemingly different businesses—marketplace, payments, cryptoassets, and mobile data. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a major impact on not only individual features and initiatives but also the business strategy of all of Mercari Group’s products, considering user experience across the products and driving the establishment of new businesses from a research standpoint.
• Rather than simply reporting research findings, you will engage directly with management and business leaders to participate in discussions that advance businesses.
• You will also have the opportunity to create entirely new markets from scratch by identifying emerging tech trends—both domestic and international—and anticipating future consumer behaviors. While challenging, this high-uncertainty environment is exactly where research capabilities can have transformative impact.
• Web3 domains such as cryptoassets and NFTs are still relatively unfamiliar to users. However, you’ll work alongside professional designers, PMs, and analysts who are genuinely committed to creating a world where everyone can easily master these technologies, pursuing UX excellence together.
• We actively leverage generative AI to enhance research efficiency, quality, and accessibility. This unique and challenging role allows you to drive the evolution of not just research processes, but the fundamental nature of research itself.
• In working with various stakeholders, you will be expected to do the following three things.
• Think from the stakeholder’s perspective in discussions
• Take ownership of creating and maximizing value for our users, even if that means proposing a stop or pivot in direction
• Remain committed to making ethical decisions

Qualifications

• Required Experience/Skills
• Shared belief in the mission and values of Mercari Group and its various companies
• Five or more years of practical experience in research related to services or products, or equivalent knowledge/skills
• Experience working on projects to improve services or products in cooperation with other teams
• Ability to autonomously carry out the entire process of determining and resolving research issues, from planning to analysis and reporting
• Research methods: Interviews, surveys, field surveys, diary surveys, or other new methods
• Research topics: Understanding market environments, identifying needs, or conducting concept tests, usability tests, or post-market retrospectives
• Ability to communicate analysis results in a way that allows stakeholders to make decisions
• Strong curiosity and a hunger to understand the user perspective (empathy)
• Preferred Experience/Skills
• Ability to formulate research strategies to achieve the business roadmap
• Experience reporting to and holding discussions with business leaders and senior management
• Experience managing people and building organizations while working as a researcher
• Experience in other fields, such as product design, product management, engineering, or data analysis
• Ability to design and facilitate workshops
• Ability to extract and compile data using SQL
