SUMMARY OF THE ASSIGNED DUTIES, INCLUDING GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POST

The Executive Directorate for Capacity Building and Innovation (EDCI) strengthens member countries' policing capabilities through training, technology, and innovation. Within the EDCI, the Innovation Centre aspires to become a premier entity that law enforcement agencies worldwide actively engage with to enhance their technical innovation and capabilities in preparing for emerging technologies, and to leverage these technologies for the optimization and efficiency of policing activities. Through direct supervision of staff, the incumbent will ensure that the Organization's policies, strategic objectives, and operational goals are communicated, understood, and fully implemented within Strategic Innovation. Additionally, the post holder will ensure the team's efficient functioning, driving effective performance and delivering measurable outputs.

The objective is to foster a culture of innovation within INTERPOL by supporting member countries through: the identification of challenges faced by the Organization and its members; the development of groundbreaking policing initiatives; and the establishment of internationally agreed policing standards. This will be underpinned by a collaborative expert platform that brings together law enforcement, private sector partners, and academia. The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues across the Innovation Centre and INTERPOL's internal directorates.
