AI/Innovation Officer – Accounting

Ready to shape the future of accounting?

Perfect timing! We're looking for an Innovation Officer in Accounting.

If you're passionate about combining accounting expertise with technology, automation and data-driven thinking, and you want to create visible impact within a leading professional services firm, this one's for you.

What will you be doing?

Forget theoretical innovation plans. You turn ideas into action. You identify opportunities, build prototypes, test tools, and make sure innovation truly lands within our accounting teams.

• Accelerate the accounting innovation roadmap – Co-develop and execute a pragmatic innovation roadmap aligned with the strategic priorities of our accounting department. You help define where we go next — and make it happen.
• Turn business needs into concrete solutions – Translate requirements from accounting teams into proofs of concept, prototypes and pilots. You bridge the gap between business and technology.
• Experiment hands-on with new tools – Explore and test data analytics, BI tools, RPA, ML/AI prototypes, workflow automation and collaborative solutions. You don't just talk innovation — you build it.
• Drive pilots and adoption – Coordinate pilot trajectories with internal teams and member firms, define impact and risk assessments, and ensure smooth adoption within accounting practice.
• Measure what matters – Establish clear KPIs to quantify traction, time savings and quality improvements. You make impact visible and measurable.
• Enable and inspire colleagues – Develop training materials, onboard users and support change processes. You help colleagues embrace new ways of working with confidence.
• Safeguard quality and compliance – Ensure new technologies are implemented in line with accounting standards, quality requirements and regulatory expectations.

What do you bring to the table?

Your foundation:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
• 2–5 years of experience within accounting or strong affinity with accounting processes (experience in relevant tech roles is also valued)
• Hands-on experience with data analytics, BI tools, RPA, workflow automation or ML/AI proofs of concept
• Ability to build prototypes or drive R&D initiatives based on structured requirement lists
• Strong stakeholder management skills: you translate business challenges into practical technical solutions
• Fluency in English and Dutch or French

Your personality:

• You think like an entrepreneur and focus on creating tangible, visible impact
• You combine analytical strength with creativity and a true "test-and-learn" mentality
• You are proactive and independent, yet thrive in collaboration with partners, IT and business teams
• You communicate clearly and create buy-in across different stakeholder levels
• You balance innovation with a strong awareness of quality and compliance risks
• You're flexible and eager to promote smarter, future-proof ways of working

• Cross-functional exposure: collaborate with accounting partners, IT, process owners and international member firms, expanding your professional network and expertise.
