Job Description

As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you’ll discover meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale. Join our colleagues in bringing our Mission to life every single day to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of manufacturing teams producing thermal field emitters used in electron microscopy. These products are manufactured in a cleanroom environment where process discipline, precision, and close partnership with engineers and other subject matter experts are essential to successful execution.

This role requires a leader who can balance operational performance with the continued development of the people, systems, and processes that support long-term organizational growth. The successful candidate will be expected to build a strong understanding of the manufacturing processes they oversee, use that knowledge to make sound operational decisions, and work effectively across technical functions to resolve issues, improve performance, and support production readiness.

In addition to leading daily execution, this role will help integrate multiple manufacturing areas into a cohesive workstream, lead significant operational changes, develop team and leadership capability, and strengthen the systems used to manage training, performance, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is an approachable and decisive leader who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, technically curious, and effective at building productive relationships across manufacturing, engineering, and other functional groups. They should be equally capable of responding to immediate production needs and thinking ahead about how the organization, its people, and its processes need to evolve.
