Position Summary

The Changeover Crew is a per-event employee who works specifically in the areas of room setups and arena conversions at the venue. The position is primarily responsible for the changeover in the venue from one event to another. Additionally, a member of the Changeover Crew may be involved in other aspects of building maintenance, including painting, trash disposal, exterior facility care, snow removal, furniture moving, etc. The Changeover Crew is a vital component of the venue in responding to the needs of promoters and clients. A positive attitude and a positive appearance are essential. 

This role pays an hourly rate of $12.00 - $15.00.

Hilliard Center is professionally managed by Oak View Group and proudly serves as the premier entertainment hub of the Coastal Bend. The venue includes the 10,000-seat Hilliard Center Arena, designed for concerts, sporting events, family shows, and professional and amateur rodeos; Hilliard Convention Center, hosting trade shows, banquets, and community events; and the historic Selena Auditorium, a celebrated performance space.

As home to TAMUCC Men’s and Women’s Basketball, the Corpus Christi IceRays, and the Corpus Christi Tritons, the venue welcomes hundreds of thousands of fans each year. Responsibilities

• Actively care for all equipment and property by storing, cleaning, and maintaining changeover equipment.
• Respond and resolve set-up issues promptly as directed by fellow staff and management.
• Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events. 
• Setting up and tearing down flooring, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other furnishings and equipment. 
• Responding to promoters'/clients' needs as directed. 
• Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed. 
• Perform various duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met, including, but not limited to, loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and waste to the proper disposal area, and replenishing supplies 
• Assist, when necessary, with pre/post-event cleaning, including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, and carpet cleaning 
• Maintain outside grounds, including parking areas, the garage, entrances, and the event plaza.  
• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as painting, patching, and other conversion-related operational equipment 
• Follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively. 
• Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, clients, and patrons encountered in the course of employment.  
• Works effectively under pressure and stringent schedules to produce accurate results. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

• Previous experience with event changeovers is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule.
• Must be able to work in a manner that is safe and effective.
• Must possess the ability to perform all essential duties and responsibilities in a satisfactory manner. 

• Works effectively under deadlines driven by event schedules and project timelines.

• Demonstrates both independent initiative and strong collaboration within a team environment.

• Must be able to follow detailed instructions accurately while communicating clearly and effectively.

• Experience operating equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts, or other light power equipment is preferred.
