Kalispel Casino Security Manager (KTMs and Internal TMs)

Summary of Functions

The Security Manager is responsible for providing assistance to the  Assistant General Manager (AGM) and General Manager (GM) by maintaining continuous contact with the Security Ambassadors to ensure efficient operations of the security department and Kalispel Casino. The position communicates with AGM and GM on all matters related to guest and team members. The Security Manager supervises and coordinates the activities of the Security Ambassadors by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day security  operations while ensuring compliance with Tribal, state, and federal gaming regulations.
• Develop and manage annual department budget aligned with the casino's revenue goals.
• Implement and enforce policies and procedures that enhance operational efficiency and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Address guest service issues promptly and implement service recovery measures when necessary.
• Work close with the Kalispel Tribal Gaming Agency and Tribal Law Enforcement to ensure protection guest, team members, and Tribal assets.
• Conduct and review security department investigations including all incidents and notify necessary departments to address concerns.
• Conduct regular building walks to assess machine functionality, cleanliness, and guest experience.

• Participate in operational meetings and effectively communicate security issues and concerns.

• Provide regular performance insights into leadership and evaluate progress toward departmental objectives
• Collaborate with department managers to implement operational policies and procedures that enhance the guest experience and improve operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with tribal leadership, regulatory agencies, vendors, and community stakeholders.
• Address and resolve guest complaints and service recovery situations in a timely and professional manner.
• Conduct regular property walks to assess facility conditions, staff performance, and guest experience.
• Facilitate communication between departments to ensure seamless coordination of casino operations.
• Participate in special projects, promotions, and events as directed by the GM.
• Lead, mentor, and collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure seamless program execution.
• Address player feedback, ensuring high standards of guest satisfaction and team member relations with Kalispel Hospitality.
• Provide regular performance insights to leadership and evaluate progress toward departmental objectives.
• Ensures compliance with the applicable Kalispel Tribe of Indians, state and federal law and regulation, internal controls as well as policies and procedures throughout the organization.
• Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular good attendance record.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy.
• May be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review Hearings.

Supervisory Responsibilities

·         Direct supervision of the Security department personnel.

·         Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, and performance evaluation, and corrective action of security department personnel.

·         Authority to make operational decisions and personnel actions in accordance with company policy.

·         Create, monitor, and approve department scheduling to ensure optimal coverage to meet business needs while controlling labor costs.

Education

·         Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration or technical school preferred. 

Experience

·         Two years security/law enforcement and/or training.

·         Previous experience in a tribal gaming environment preferred.

Other Requirements

·         Obtain and maintain a Kalispel Tribal Gaming License.

·         Obtain and maintain a Washington State Gambling Commission License.

·         Valid driver’s license (Must be in possession while operating a Tribal Vehicle).

·         Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended period during shifts.
• Ability to work in a casino environment with exposure to noise, secondhand smoke, and bright lights.

• Frequent verbal communication, including exchanging and expressing ideas clearly and quickly.
• Regular repetitive hand, wrist, and finger movements; fine motor skills required.
• Periodic walking, standing, sitting, stair climbing, and object lifting or horizontal movement. Occasionally requires stooping or crouching.
• Vision and auditory acuity are necessary to monitor casino floor operations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, occasionally exposed to tobacco smoke. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, repetitive motions, extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

Travel Requirements

• Local travel is occasionally required.
• Travel outside of the state is infrequently required, typical travel time is generally less than a week.
