Secondary History Teacher

 San Marcos Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate full-time history teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position involves teaching history classes to Middle School (8th grade) and Upper School (9th-12th grade) students. The ideal candidate will inspire creativity and foster a love for history in students. 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans for Middle and Upper School history classes.
• Teach historical concepts, events, and perspectives using a variety of instructional strategies and primary sources.
• Foster critical thinking, discussion, and analysis of historical events and their impact on the modern world.
• Assess student understanding through a range of formative and summative evaluations and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to support cross-curricular initiatives and school-wide learning goals.
•  Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in History or Education.
• Advanced Placement certification preferred.
• Previous teaching experience is a plus.

Compensation: Determined by experience
