Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of a Radiologic Technologist, the Radiology Student performs a variety of imaging procedures while adhering to regulatory standards and facility policies. The position provides hands-on clinical training for students currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technology program, with a strong emphasis on patient safety, accurate documentation, and technical competency.

Essential Functions

• Performs imaging procedures under supervision, ensuring patient safety and care quality
• Reviews patient history and physician's orders; prepares equipment and selects appropriate imaging parameters
• Follows radiation safety and infection control guidelines
• Assists with patient positioning, shielding, and education before and during procedures
• Monitors and reports patient condition changes; analyzes image quality and routes for radiologist interpretation
• Operates imaging and PACS equipment; reports malfunctions appropriately
• Maintains accurate documentation according to facility standards
• Participates in quality improvement, equipment maintenance, and restocking of supplies
• Administers contrast media when ordered and within scope of practice
• Performs additional related duties within scope of practice as assigned
