- Provide students with a well-balanced and nutritious meal
- Manage the preparation and delivery of quality meals for all food through the use of standardized recipes and instructions on the menus to students and staff
- Ensure that high safety and sanitation standards are complied with by staff to ensure the health and safety of both staff and students
- Ensure that food service program meets or exceeds federal, state, local laws and regulations
- Ensure the requirements in the area of meal service accountability are adhered to within district guidelines
- Prepare and submit requisitions for food and supplies according to menus and delivery schedules to meet the daily requirements of the assigned cafeteria
- Resolve internal issues and communicate issues that cannot be handled at local level to central staff
- Requisition small equipment, cleaning supplies and promptly reports needed equipment repairs to central office
- Supervise the work activities of the cafeteria including interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Maintain complete records for program accountability including deliveries, cash receipts and meals served; follow and enforce district and departmental policies and procedures
- Perform all other job related duties as assigned by supervisor, principal and all department heads
